Seat is not “white” as described and as such is not quite the same color as the rest of my toilet.

This product is nearly impossible to install. It is designed to lock into place from the back. The original product was designed to install from the front. This is important, since there is very little clearance in the back, because the tank hold area is in the way, not to mention the fact that one can not see what you're doing unless you lie down on the floor. Of course all the connectors and hinges are plastic. The original were metal. The design was changed so you can't use the original hardware. The plastic connecting screws are too long and had to be cut off, else the seat clearance would be in the wrong place. Good luck with aligning the nut and connecting screw. The length of the plastic nut provided is exactly the clearance distance between the back of the seat and tank support, so you may have a scant millimeter to work with, which is essentially by feel. If I have to replace this seat again, since all the bumpers came off the original one, I will buy a new commode.
