Can't say anything more than...It's Barry Manilow at his Best...

So relaxing.

First, I have to kind of laugh at the review (and reviewer) giving the video one star. I was at the taping of the show, and it was tremendous fun watching them tape. Perhaps Ms. One Star has not been to the taping of a musical special before-the producer and director frequently give the audience direction, because they know the sequence of things and what they want in the shot. I don't think any audience watching Barry has EVER had to be encouraged to clap and cheer. Perhaps some people reviewing here haven't been to one of his live shows, either.In regard to Barry's voice, I came away thinking how strong he sounded after all these years. Actually the male voice really doesn't really degrade and deepen as it gets older-the male voice doesn't fully mature until we're in our 50's, which is, oh, by the way, Barry's age group, lol.Even though I was there in person, I bought the video, that's how much I enjoyed the show. There is some cool extra material, including commentary from Barry, which is often very revealing and insightful. The Band kicked ass, and the choice of songs was great-his standards mixed with some of his more recent work, something for everyone.I highly recommend this video, and have watched it multiple times because the music is so strong and Barry did a fantastic job on stage. Anyone who picks at this video doesn't like much of anything, lol.

So many great songs. But my favorite thing about this was the fact that is 2 discs. Disc 1 is the CBS broadcast version. Had cool bonus features, too.But the real reason I got this was the 2nd disc, which was the entire recording session, with additional songs and portions of songs. Also, two songs were performed a second time because Barry felt there was issues with his performance. Also an unusual feature for a concert video, there is also a commentary track for this full-length version. Which, by the way, is twice as long as the broadcast version. Other bonus features as well.Overall, an excellent concert for a great price.

Hi, I am actually Tom's wife. Hope Amazon will still accept this review. I have always been a fan of Barry Manilow's great hits from the 70's!!! I don't know what happened but, I missed all his TV specials. I watched some of this DVD on YouTube & decided to purchase it so I could watch the entire show. According to the other reviewers, I expected it to be a lot more humorous. I really didn't care for the extended un-cut version/DVD. Having said this, I thoroughly enjoyed the entire finished version!!! I thought Barry looked great & really connected with the audience. As always, he sings with so much passion & emotion. Thank you, Amazon for your great prices & efficiency!!!

I bought this to give as a gift to a Fanilow friend. I have several Manilow concerts on DVD and blu-ray, and this one's one I play a lot, especially the untrimmed "As Taped" version. He's very relaxed and shares such a great rapport and impromptu humor with the audience during the unaired portions. What a rare and unique opportunity to see that of him, and now to always be able to see it anytime by popping this disc in. A real treat for any Fanilow to watch! Plus, this has likely my rendition of "Weekend in New England" by him with an alternate second version (his first take) included; his explanation in the audio commentary why he felt he needed to perform it again really keys in to his perfectionist trait and his ear for it!

One of the very best of its kind, this one-of-a-kind DVD is very unusual - on disc 1, you get the CBS special with a few extras and it's amazing. On disc 2, you get the un-cut show, including everything a show like this goes through to get on air, including re-doing songs, Barry and various stage-hands joking with the audience - and a commentary from Barry himself. Add to that the stellar sound (5.1) and the fact that - in my opinion - this is the hand-down best live versions of these songs - and he doesn't miss a single hit - this is indispensable and at this price - it's a must-buy before any other DVD or BLU RAY if you are a true Barry fan. The accompanying CD is also fantastic (sold separately)

He is unchangeable in positive way: his numerous hit songs, his style of entertaining audiences and most importanly, his voice!
