Does work with PC sort of
good things first. the controller feels nice built solid thumb sticks have a good feel and the buttons aren't mushy. the trigger buttons are a bit and on one of the controllers I have the right trigger has almost no feel for where the button is pressed but from what I remember a real GameCube controller was similar after a while anyway.ok the bad or more accurately the aggravating. first point is to make sure that you understand that regardless of what the box says there is no dongle for the Bluetooth version (which is the version I bought_. I have not tried connecting to a switch only to a PC. if you want to run wired then it connects fine. if you want to connect wireless then just take the directions fold them into as little squares as you can and throw them out. the directions say to plug in the wire to a pc to enable xinput mode. that doens't work. it connects fine but is recognized as a Pro controller which is fine things map ok and using software like reWASD lets you redefine as a xbox controller so playing most games is possible wired. pressing home and Y like the directions say turns on led1 and 4 again as the directions say. windows pairs the controller so far so good. but the controller never actually connects to the PC (at least mine and from what I can tell most other people's as well). the other mode i found from the companies website was to turn on keyboard mode which is done by holding home and x. this basically does the same thing as xinput mode, pair but no connection. even with turning off and turning back onin both settings. what i did find that works is if you turn on the controller holding home and A. led 2 and 3 light up and blink slowly. if you keep holding they blink faster and it becomes discoverable by a PC. once it connects they will flash slower and it is recognized as a game controller and shows up in windows USB gamepads. the problem is that the mapping of the buttons is not the layout that you would expect. a game like Division 2 recognizes the gamepad but the sholder buttons are mapped as the triggers, the triggers are mapped as menu and map (start, select) and other buttons are not correct and a game like that does not allow for remapping. also as mentioned earlier reWASD doesn't recognize it as a supported controller, I have not tried other mapping software. BUT and for me this made the whole thing ok. emulators allow for mapping of buttons individually which means that it can be connected and works perfectly for that use case.Edit: finally tried it with the switch. Works great on switch no issues just plug it in wired and then unplug and turn it back on and it connects right away.

A powerful package, a proud purchase.
This is a fantastic controller, I was blown away by its performance, and found myself preferring it to all of my other controllers. The buttons are all very confirming, though the bumper buttons are a little too short for my taste, and are hard to switch to quickly from the triggers.I bought this controller for smash, and when wired, it’s awesome, the notched L stick and C stick are fantastic for online play. The wireless is very fast but noticeably more laggy than wired (especially with Nintendo Online’s servers) but I still used wireless for a few other games like Breath of the Wild and found it to be more than acceptable.Speaking of BotW, the motion control was another pleasant surprise that actually out-performed my Power A enhanced Pro controller, which does not come with rumble. The Rumble function is very powerful, and in a game like Mario Oddessy, it was powerful enough to cause motion input when on normal strength (I suggest turning vibration on low for most games). The function buttons are perfectly... functional, though the + and - buttons are both on the right with the capture and Turbo buttons on the left, with home in the middle. The home button turns the controller on and can even wake up the switch (kind of- see critique). The turbo button works as advertised, though I’ve yet to find a use for it.Critique-I’ve had a few odd connectivity issues, the controller might say it’s connected when turned on, but I’ve had to unplug and replug it into the switch for it to be recognized. The USB-C wire that comes with the controller comes out at a right angle and is easy to bump which has caused disconnections, and occasionally the controller needs to be replugged at random times for reasons I’ve yet to figure out. These are pretty few and far between, so not deal-breaking, but definitely worth taking a Star off of my review. For the other reviews-One of the big complaints I’ve seen is that it’s not analog like an original GameCube controller. This is not a GameCube controller, it is a pro Switch controller, and the switch does not accept analog inputs, on PC this controller works just like any other market controller (Xbox, PlayStation, Pro controller, etc) just with the buttons in a very different configuration. The only reason digital input would ever be an issue is for running emulated GameCube games on PC for which the pro controller is not built.Overall, for the price and performance, I’m happy to have bought this item.

Can sometimes be fincky
Sometimes you get what you pay for. In this case, I have to say that I've gotten more value out of this controller than the price that I paid. This controller has been through 180 hours of smash bros, both Ori games, and the entire hollow knight game and it's still going strong. Joysticks are still crisp and I don't think I've ever lost bluetooth connection. But there are some downsides.1. If the controller dies, it does not like reconnecting with the swtich - especially if the switch is turned on. You need to turn on a feature in your controller settings that is off by default for it to recognize pro controllers that are plugged in, and then it will connect via bluetooth after that.2. The right shoulder button sometimes like to stick and press again and again without your input. The button itself doesn't stick, but the connector seems to stick. This didn't happen at first, but has begun to happen more frequently.3. The switch recognizes this as a pro controller, and not a gamecube controller. This gives you access to the other buttons on the face, but sometimes confuses the system when setting up controls.4. PC's recognize this as an xbox controller for some reason, and games like hollow knight do not play well with it. It took me a good 20 minutes to get this working with hollow knight on the pc, and even once it was working it did not like me attempting to change keybinds.Overall, it's a pretty good value, and if you don't know if you're going to be into using a gamecube controller, I would give this a go as it is usb type c and doesn't require any special cables. However, if you already like the form factor you may want to go for something a bit more premium.
