Perfect item to do the job we needed. We used this to cut polystyrene balls in half. We had 3000 balls to cut and this made it so much easier. Very clean cuts, no mess left on the floor (that may be the best part) One blade (wire) cut all 3000 balls. This product does come in pieces and you have to assemble before use but it goes together in a mater of seconds and is very simple. The wire just slips on to the two screws/bolts. Heats up very quickly (in about 30 sec.) This item works so well that we ended up getting 2 more a week later.

Works as advertised! Used this to cut 2 1/4" thick Kaizen foam for a quadcopter backpack! Performed the job flawlessly! Great for your foam projects! Planning on using this item for other foam projects like gun cases, camera cases, etc.

The cutting platform arrived missing a foot, which is easy to understand seeing as they are glued on... Aside from the point, this foam cutter was defective in that the power converter failed after less than 30min of transient use and is no longer operational. I am currently seeking a full refund. Do yourself a favor, and do not buy this product. -1/5 stars for wasting my time.

It does work, in that it gets moderately hot enough to cut foam, but I think this device is more for crafting styrofoam or very light weight, thin foams. It does not work very well for thick pieces of gun case foam (4" of closed cell). While it does cut it, it tends to bind from time to time, leaving jerky cuts with quite visible direction marks. I think that's because either it doesn't get hot enough for thicker foam or the arm isn't quite stable enough. The arm just sits in a hole in the base and is held in place with the tension of the wire once that is installed. The entire device is very light weight, to the point that I had to figure out a way to clamp it down so that the pressure of cutting a thick piece of foam didn't slide the device off the table. Overall, I'd still give it 3 stars, as it does work and is very cheap. I think this was more my fault for not understanding the full extent of what I was buying. This is for light hobby/craft work only, and does not cut it (ha!) for my type of demanding application. Still, the design does have flaws, so I'll split the difference with the rating. This is just one of those, "you get what you pay for" moments.

Works great! The pole just sits in a hole in the back so I was a little skeptical about the tension of the wire, but once you put it on it doesn't move with a bit of force. So it's pretty great! Nice smooth cuts with foam, and a perfect size for crafts. It's a bit pricey for what you get, but it's structurally sound.

I like this a lot. I did have to bend the brass rod a bit to get the right tension i wanted but other than that its basically ready to go out of the box. When you go to bend it start of slowly and a little at a time because i bent mine too far and noticed the wire wasn't perfectly vertical. I got a square and lined it up as best i could after bending it back and now i have a perfect foam cutter. Iv been using the same wire for a while now too but the awesome thing is it comes with like 5 or 6 extras. I will be using this item for years to come (knock on wood)

Great economy cutter for foam,the wire breaks easy,do be careful with it ,it does come with 3tho.overall good

It’s great I’m really glad I bought it. It has constant heat unlike the battery operated devices, and super light weight. Very compact, easy to use.
