I wonder if I am the only one with a Senseo Machine any more- we've had one since 2003 and it is a heavily used, well loved member of the family!. The Douwe Egberts Morning Americano pods are "Mug size" pods -ie: you use the double pod holder supplied with senseo machines to make a bigger, richer coffee (ideal for that kick start in the morning). We used to buy these from various mail-order outlets, when we discovered that not only did Amazon sell them, but they were available under the "subscribe and Save" option. We order them as a 5 bag per 2 month subscription which works nicely for us.So what is the coffee like- It is one of the stronger varieties in the DE Senseo range, and has the crema topping once brewed. One tip we have noticed over the years, is to place pod on open palm and pat it flat- this redistributes the coffee in the pod that sometimes gets the pod mis-shaped during transit and gives poor/uneven brews when used.All I hope is that the machine lasts now, as we have a large amount of coffee pods to get through thanks to Subscribe and Save !

I bought these to try as the other reviews were encouraging. I do enjoy a generous mug full of strong tasting coffee and that is exactly what I got with these "Morning Americano" pods. They are extra large and it is important to advise customers that they do not fit in the standard Senseo holder - they require the "double size" holder which, unfortunately costs around £19. I think this should be made clear in the product description and it only appears on the packaging in small print on the side. That said, these are very good value pods and recommended if you like your coffee strong.

This is great coffee but is I suggest you do not buy too much at any one time because the machines used to make the coffee are poorly made and Philips are unhelpful when I seek their advice. Result an expensive machine sits on a shelf unused and the coffee pads are going off. The lid which you have to open and close in order to make the coffee has developed a small crack near the catch. The is made worse and opens up with each machine use. I have asked Philips for ways to get it repair ed and they have failed to even answer my request. I know they got it because they then sent me a customer satisfaction survey to fill in judging their response to their actions!

Can't go wrong with Douwe Egberts. These Americano mug sized pads are good but not as strong as I would have liked. However, it does make a very nice mug full of coffee. Not bad value for money if bought when on special offer and sub. & save. You will need the deeper pad holder for these pads.

I have been using this coffee for years. It makes a perfect cup of Americano coffee as it should be, which by the way can be drank at any time of the day and not just in the morning as stated on the pack..It has a full bodied flavour with no bitter aftertaste and has a lovely creamy finish.I would recommend this coffee for anyone with a Senseo Coffee Machine.Enjoy

Medium strength coffee, works well in any machine with an appropriate sized basket despite being designed specifically for Philips machines. Having tried these, I now buy them regularly and use these when I want to make a long coffee and the standard Senseo dark roast when I want a short one or to have a latte. Works out more expensive than buying loose coffee but well worth it for the ease of use. Unlike coffee closures, the used pods can be composted.

This makes a mug size / 2 cups of coffee according to the instructions.HOWEVER, if you make a mug size drink it is far too weak. I make one standard cup from it and it tastes excellent, BETTER and with no bitterness, than the stronger varieties of the same make designed for just one cup.Therefore, for me, absolutely lovely, but only if you stick to the small standard cup size. And it is still good value despite my, in theory, only getting half the drinks from it.

pretty nice coffee. Preferred the easy weekend pods in the purple packages but don't seem to be able to get them, don't know if they have stopped doing them or not.
