Orange California Poppy Seeds, 1 Oz Pack, 20,000+ Native Seeds by Seeds2Go

These plants got so thick they were threatening my other plants and I had to thin them. Beautiful blooms, I've always admired them when I saw them on roadsides and hills. i'm glad I have some in my yard.

I threw these down when we had the heavy rains in California in February. I threw them into a mulch pile, where there was not much "soil", but mostly tree mulch. I have about 20 poppies in the yard now, which doesn't sound like much, but poppies are fast spreaders, and I predict that next year I'll have closer to 40, and so on. Nice pop of color, although they don't last, for me, when the poppies are out, it's a sure sign that Spring is here.

I am giving 5 stars even though they did not grow. It was not their fault. My husband forgot I planted the seeds and mowed over the entire area to vacuum up the dead fall leaves. I am hoping to try again in a different area.

Super easy to grow. We ordered and planted the seeds very late in the season (June), and the plants came up and started flowering by August - gorgeous along our full sun driveway! Just kept them watered during the dry spells. We live inland in western Oregon. We are very pleased with this purchase. We are waiting now to see if they many seeds they threw last year will germinate on their own this season.

Packaging was simple and not excessive. The quantity was correct. Most of the seeds planted thusfar have put up sprouts and I'm looking forward to seeing some yellow flowers pop up soon. Reliable product.

I planted these seeds in several places around my yard and I am happy to say that after 4 weeks, they are approximately 1.5" tall. Although they will not bloom for some time yet, I'm having fun watching them grow. You get a lot of seeds at a reasonable cost. There are no directions or pictures with the packaging, so don't be discouraged by the presentation. To plant, choose a spot with lots of sun, turn the soil a bit and keep some of that soil to one side. Add some amendment to your soil, scatter the seeds and cover with the layer of soil you had set aside. I watered with a spray nozzle every day because it's been very dry here, but if you live in a wetter area, just make sure not to overwater. I can't wait for the bloom!

Aaaaw. I'm a total amateur when it comes to gardening ~ this is actually my first time planting flowers! I'm just getting started, so maybe they'll turn out super pretty and vibrant, but I gotta Google how to plant them first. I received a zip lock packet of seeds (lots of them so that's awesome!) but no instructions. :(
