I was on the hunt for a set of grain scoops and all the ones I had found until now were way too big. This 3 piece set come in a variety of sizes and you can see the other reviewers who show their size in comparison photos. It's because of that reviewer is the main reason I purchased these because they are the exact sizes I needed for my food photography. I wish they had a more aged look, but hey, I'll take what I can get. They aren't super thick or heavy but you can't tell by looking at them, neither are they flimsy. They are just right for what I am using them for. If I decided to use them full time in my grain containers, I would have no hesitations with that either, they will hold up just fine.

I'm in agreement with other reviewers who have commented on the small size of these scoops. I was OK with small, I thought, until I got them and realized they are extra small. I only needed one, which I planned on using to scoop out dry cat food from the bag. If the scoop was just short, that would be one thing. But these scoops are also very narrow, which means that you can't scoop up much at all. I filled the largest of the 3 scoops with cat food and then poured it into a measuring cup and found out that the large scoop holds 1/4 cup...that's pretty small. If the seller had listed the sizes or amounts they hold, I wouldn't have bought this set. But, they are quality made and will definitely last, and I can make do with using the large scoop. Just be forewarned, they're really small.

I know aluminum should be light weight but I don't care for the feel of these in the hand. They are also tapered to allow use in a small opening in a canister. But can hardly stand the tinney sound they make. Feel too thin to keep. I guess the flat bottom is to allow them to set up on the counter but I have no use for that feature. Would have preferred they hold more product with a rounded bottom. Ok product, just not for me.

Exactly what I wanted and what I have been looking for. I've been using a blue plastic scoop for years for cornmeal and flour and always leaving it in the cornmeal container. I'm sure it was part of a nesting set and the others are long gone. These are perfect. You can always count on Amazon.The middle size is now used for flour and the large for a perfect pot of coffee. Still haven't decided what the little one if for.These are REALLY good. I may have to purchase another set.12-13-12: I have indeed purchased another set of these VERY good scoops just recently.

These are exactly the right size for a candy buffet because it causes guest to not sit at the table being greedy. I had to order two sets because i thought I needed four but after I remembered how much candy I actually had I'm glad I did. Unfortunately, after the event I was feeling lazy and put them in the dishwasher, duh your not suppose to do that but I was tired lol. Anyway I will probably order them again just because I think they are cute and can be useful in the future.

I bought these to replace the scoops for my canisters that have gotten lost over the years.They looked almost like the old ones.The difference showed up right away. I put these new ones in the dishwasher before I put them in the canisters.Unlike the old ones, these turned black.I spent the rest of the day cleaning the coating off of them so I could use them.If you buy these, wash them by hand.

These are great for a wedding candy buffet. At first I was a little disappointed with the size, but I did a scoop test in some of the candy that I've already bought and I was surprised by how much they scooped up. You don't want them to be that big anyway. The bigger they are the more candy people will take- definitely something to consider. They'll be perfect. Wish I had bought more!

Excellent quality. Nice and light and well constructed but much smaller than anticipated based on the photo and listed dimensions.

Very very skeptical that this is aluminum.I'm 99% sure this is plastic, coated with metallic paint. Reason being, it's quite light, but the packaging label was on the back and took a lot of elbow crease to get the sticky part of the label off. After doing so, the metallic coating was worn down. The underside of the metallic coating is grey plastic. Very disappointing and probably not food safe when it starts to wear or chip off. I would not buy again.

Wash by hand only. The finish gets destroyed in the dish washing machine.
