Q: How are the edges finished?

It's like a regular piece of cloth you would buy in the fabric shop: it has selvedges and two cut edges. The fabric is super thick--I love it!

Q: Would this work for cloth baby wipes and burp cloths?

Yes, the heavyweight would work for burp cloths but I would go lightweight for the baby wipes. Really the lightweight would work for both.

Q: If I order 5 yards is it a continuous piece of fabric?

I don't know. I ordered 2 yards and since there was no 2-yard option, I ordered 2 of the 1-yard option and received two 1-yard pieces. The 5-yard option might be one continuous piece.
