Quality, quality, quality
I just received this shovel and the quality is OUTSTANDING. The organization of the pouch is well thought out and the shovel and screw in components are high quality and the fit is strong. I work off road rescue and this tool will be a great addition to our specialty tools. It is expensive but well worth the value. I would recommend this tool as it will last for years and years. Look at it a a safety investment.

Awesome for camping! Fantastic quality. It has so many survival things in it, I would take it with me if I have to go to war!

Not Just an Awesome Compact Shovel!
This shovel has a really cool tool in each section, and is super sturdy from the shovel and even the bag and zippers. You can see a lot of thought went into the engineering behind this product. It's also super fast and easy to pack away and to put together.

Very sturdy, good components, heavy.
Because this shovel is sturdy, it’s a tad heavy, which is to be expected. I like it, and I wish I could also purchase the entire set of handle segments (minus the survival tools within) in order to greatly extend the handle length into a hiking staff (with shovel blade at the top) while hiking. I see they sell a single segment to extend the handle, but it would be great to have a set of empty segments. It’s a well built shovel.

Excellent shovel
I bought this as a tool for reducing my load on bicycle trips. Even though it’s a bit heavy, I don’t have to pack an hatchet or a small shovel or other tools since I have all of this in this one survival tool. Excellent choice for me.

$100 For A Shovel!? Yep.
In this computer-driven age where one can nearly do what one wishes as long as it involves a computer, such also means Computer Numerical Control (CNC) employs computer coding for the purpose of constructing devices about which people could only dream about a half-century ago. That means Tyger's TG-SV8U3217 Military grade shovel is made to fit in a sturdy pack roughly the size of the shovel blade fitting within and contains much, much more than just a shovel.Anyone interested in Tyger's shovel can find it here on Amazon and, if the prospective purchaser's timimg is good, at a price that's less than $100, even though the product is worth that and more.Lightweight but sturdier than such weight might suggest, this user couldn't help but notice and appreciate the tight tolerances under which this product was constructed. The multiple sections - each having a specialized purpose different than that of any and all of every other part - fit together like fingers sliding into a well-made and well-fitted glove. From fire-starting to felling trees, the user of this Tyger shovel need not have a desparate need to dig a hole. However, should such need arise, it'll handle that one, too. This tool is so finely made one suspects when up for sale it might belong in a jewelry store window as anywhere. It'll also fit in an already too-packed trunk, so little is the required space for the muti-, muti-purpose tool. Indeed, so thoroughly considered in its build, the pack within which the Tyer shovel is contained has a number of carrying options including a simple (but sturdy) belt loop.If the reader has a need to be prepared for just about anything, it's hard to imagine this shovel won't be an important part of a purchaser's emergency equipment for his or her vehicle. However, it does have one negative of such proportion that it just might cancel a sale: it doesn't have an oxygen supply among that of the tool's multifaceted equipment supply. Still . . .

Sturdy and well made.
I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend and he absolutely loved how functional it was. Good engineering put into this product. I also purchased, and would recommend, the extension piece for the handle.

awesome shovel
was not sure about it , till I took it out on its first camping trip. So here is the scene ... rain is just coming down{ monsoon} and now is flooding the shelter . so grabbed the shovel and stared digging a trench , was impressed with the durability . I wear logger boots , and this shovel held up to me stomping on the edge . I used the shovel the same as you would a regular garden shovel , it didn't back down, bend, or fall apart .{ I had to go through rocky ground , this was not Tennessee clay ground }. then I used the spade option to rebury the trench . The only bad thing is ... the end of the shovel is not like your traditional loop handle design, there by having to wear field gloves to prevent blisters I also would suggest getting the handle extension during camp site use, making it more of a traditional handle size for non-back packing use. all in all , it has earned its right to be in the camp tool box .
