The ultimate pocket console for controlling DMX fixtures or testing cables and signal. Light weight, industry standard 5pin xlr connectors and a belt clip. The key pad is just like the key pad on a lighting console, so no more scrolling through hundreds of channels to get to the channel you want to turn on, just call it up... 496@33% and then hit the enter button to use the arrow buttons to step through the next or descending channel. Price is ok and have recommended this item to co-workers. If your looking for an easy to use or better tester. Good Luck !

Its OK
Is it the best out there? No. But it is the cheapest with keypad that is worth anything. Very basic, easy to use. Won't do much complex DMX troubleshooting, but easily handles the sending and receiving. Keypad is a bit cheap feeling. It won't replace my Swission DMX tester for complex trouble shooting, but for the daily fast testing it is what I reach for first.

A great piece of gear
I've had mine for a few years and it is what I walk in the door with for any DMX service call. I very often can diagnose and cure the problem in minutes using only this tool.And I don't have to figure out what the user has done to the console. I'm responsible for the "infrastructure" and someone else is responsible for the app. This tool won't help much with app issues, but it helps me zoom through routing troubleshooting.

LOVE this tester
LOVE this tester. Easy to use, quick to use. I wish they had both 3 and 5 pin, but I have adapters so not a big deal. Great product!

Battery powered tester uses up batteries fast.
This is powered by a rectangular 9 volt battery. I used it to drive a signal over 100 4-channel decoders (400 addresses) and battery life is very short. I used 5 batteries in 4 days. The display has a battery level indicator, and when it reaches 1/4 full it will not function correctly while driving that many.

Good meter at a great price
Does not have all the features of the swisson but it works for 99% of daily needs and the price is half of the swisson.
