They were just thrown in a plastic Amazon bag. They didn’t seem to be very hygienic or something I would want to put in my mouth. I will not be ordering from this company again.

I've learned that people who smoke are just as addicted to the muscle memory of always putting something to your mouth as the nicotine itself.These give you the ability to channel that muscle memory away from food.Other than you salivating more and the occasional piece of the root you will spit out they are really helping me with those urges.

The African chew stick is good for breath and cleaning teeth. Very good product

This product is difficult to use as a dental brush . The favor tastes like licorice, but I had a difficult time trying to peel the bark back . I gave to another guy to try it , and he also was having difficulty with peeling back the bark.

Should be smaller but they ok I cut them in half

I am 57 and live in the US, but I grew up in Europe. My grandmother always had licorice sticks in a jar because she believed it helped her with her stomach issues. I started chewing on them very young (probably around 5?). These were different times. A kid like myself thought it was cool to imagine smoking a cigar like I saw some grownups do. I'm glad that I never transitioned to actual tobacco, but that is not the issue here.Licorice sticks have a peculiar flavor. The negative comments you can read here are true: you are sucking on a stick that slowly turns into a thready pulp. That is why the people who like it like it. If you don't know that this is going to happen, I totally get the negative comments, but this is what licorice sticks are and do.This brand is a genuine item. They are exactly as I remember them from my childhood, and they smell and feel and taste clean and as fresh as a dried piece of stick can be. If you are into this, I highly recommend these. If any of this sounds alien to you, why not give it a go -- it is not expensive, and these really are the real deal!I bought them to break the habit of reaching for snacks or candy while I watch TV, but the flavor and texture brought me straight back to my grandma's kitchen. Whether it helps with the snacking or not, the trip down memory lane alone was worth it for me.
