McFarlane Toys Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag Hidden Blade & Gauntlet with Skull Buckle

My review is biased because I really enjoy everything in the Assassin's Creed franchise. The first one of these I bought held up really well, but the second one's blade broke because I was really rough with it. The blade is a bit flimsy to begin with but still really great. It becomes more flimsy the more it is extracted and retracted. The gauntlet fits a lot of forearms and is great as a prop. I used it for a short film and it looked great on camera.

Awesome piece of work, very artful and deadly looking. The skull buckle fell off it's attachment unfortunately, but it can be placed back in. Other than that this is a great product. DO NOT play with this like a toy! It is somewhat fragile and can break if used like an actual weapon. Just keep in mind that this is a prop and and piece of art and should be treated as such.

It is the worst thing I have ever bought or will buy in my entire life. It didn't even come in the actual box! Plus the tip of the blade was bent. I feel like I've been ripped off. It's hard to try to get the damn thing on my arm, they don't even tell me how to properly wear it. What disappoints me the most is that this is the official product from the game. The only thing worth mentioning is that is (barely) decent to look at. PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS PIECE OF GARBAGE! IT IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND YOU WILL FEEL AS IF YOU WERE CHEATED! AS A COSTUMER YOU DESERVE QUALITY AND THIS DOESN'T EVEN HAVE IT! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER THINGS OUT THERE FOR YOU TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON AND GET THE QUALITY THAT YOU DESERVE!. My husband's a cosplayer. He is in the midst of making a Assassin's Creed IV costume, and this was purchase for that purpose. The issues that kept us from LOVING this where:The plastic arm cover was preformed, didn't fit comfortably, and looks like plastic, because it is plastic.Also the Velcro Straps and the front plastic strap ruined the illusion and the effect of the otherwise beautifully designed hidden blade. We replaced these our own straps.Also, watch out, because for a toy, the blade broke his skin once. Not deeply, but a bit more than we expected from a "toy". The blade also deploys very easily, and when it's not locked, it pops out at the slightest touch.

Great toy - very realistic. Good quality. Only complaint is it broke within 30 seconds of play. We ordered two, one was great, works as expected. The blade is plastic and spring loaded - retracts and slides out The other was probably defective because the blade slid out once, and would not retract after the first time.

Excellent. Very strong spring, mechanism works like magic. The reviews stating that the blade is curved or bent are correct, but after receiving it I can say with almost absolute certainty it is intended to be that way to guide the point away from the users hand in case of accidental deployment. My only concern is for the plastic "belt" that goes around your wrist and the the blade mount. The little faux buckle part is not forgiving at all. It hasn't broken yet, but I imagine it will in due time. Other than that it's a great little piece of gadgetry, and at $34 it's really very worth the money.

Ok so this thing is well made, works like its suppose to and the safety works like it is suppose to. I'm not sure if others with bad reviews got faulty ones because the one my son got is perfect. He wears it constantly and is constantly extending the blade and it still works like it is suppose to. He has been dressed like an assassin since Christmas, I figure that is a TRUE test for his hidden blade and it has held up perfectly! Only con would be the top piece is very hard and doesn't give at all, it doesn't conform or anything just a hard piece of formed plastic. My son LOVES it, he doesn't see any cons (it is also LOUD when you extend the blade) He absolutely freaked when he put it on and he is an Assassins collector so he knows what he's looking for! We would give it more stars for details but alas 5 is all we can do!!

Looks great and works. Thats the only thing good i can say about it. Its too expensive to be so cheaply made. The most that should be charged for this is $40.
