WONDERFUL book. Everything you'll need to know for the 1st year.
Firstly, I have enjoyed Jo Frost's TV show for some time. I agree with her on every level when it comes to child care and behavior. When I found out we were expecting, I became even more interested in her parenting advice. This book contains far more information than I initially thought it would. There is a chapter on EVERYTHING that you will need to know for your baby's first year. From preparing for the hospital to feeding to sleeping arrangements to immunizations to routines to care to socialization to health concerns, even multiples and babies with special needs. I know this will be my go-to book for the months to come. Thank you Jo Frost for putting so much wonderful information into a book for us (soon-to-be) new moms!

I highly recommend it
I wish I have found this this book BEFORE my babies were born. I highly recommend it specialy for parents for the first time, I bought it when my triplets where 5 months old, but still it was a great help.In other books about "the first year of your baby" concentrate only on how your baby is going to develop, what is he/she going to do at certain age, but this book is about how to understand and take care of your baby, its a very different approach. If your hesitating about getting this book... stop doin it and buy it. It's also a great gifto to give your friends or family, but remember to give it at least one month before deadline.

Highly recommend!
Loved this book. Very helpful, practical, sensible...Other reviewers complained about the black and white photos and grammar errors. I don't really care about that. The most important is the important techniques I learned and amazing tips.I agreed with everything in it and thought everything made perfect sense to me.I'm 6 months pregnant at the moment and I know I will be reaching out very often for this book for the next year too.Highly recommend!

Comprehensive Overview from Pregnancy to Toddlerhood
I bought this book to get more information about sleeping/eating schedules for 0-3 month-olds. There's is some information about that in there, but it doesn't go into much detail. The book is more like a broad overview, starting in pregnancy. It's definitely a good purchase for somebody who just got pregnant since it talks about all the things you might need to buy and consider before you have your baby. Definitely a good starter book, but due to the broad coverage there's not that much detail about any specific topic.

Everything you need to know
I love everything about this book. I don’t get the reviews saying it’s too simple. She breaks down everything you can think of in that first year and I love her writing style. As a first time mom this book has been a lifeline and I feel much more prepared for my baby in a few months! Also— I trust anything Super Nanny says and love watching reruns of her show lol

A nice addition to your library
It covers all the important bases, but this book doesn't have the authoritative tone and depth of the classic childcare books such as Caring for Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to Age 5 by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Spock's Baby and Child Care or Your Baby and Child: From Birth to Age Five by Penelope Leach. As an additional volume though, it's just fine. The book has a whiff of cheap about it. The unsophisticated design incorporates no color photographs (the Leach book above has over 350) and less than a dozen black and white images. The advice, however, is sound. Throughout the book are boxed "Need to Know" items on topics such as the steps to administering medicine to a baby and when to call the doctor. Here's the chapter list:Part 1: Before Baby's Born* Becoming confident parents* Making confident first choices* Essential equipment for provisioning your babyPart 2: Baby's Here!* Zero to three months* Three to six months* Six to nine months* Nine to twelve monthsPart 3: Exceptional Circumstances* Multiple births* Preemies and other special needs* The adopted babyPart 4: Tidying Up: Resource Guides* Growth charts* Immunization schedule* Common illnesses and ailments in babies* Meningitis* Emergency first aid for children under one* First aid kit* Toys for the first year* Useful resources* Baby log

Organized and to the point
Jo Frost breaks everything down by month and is very organized and clear. Her advice is reassuring and takes a lot of guess work out of why recommendations are what they are. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a clear and authoritative book on infant care.
