I thought the look was great and the weight of each utensil was great. I was worried because I saw other reviews saying the utensils were light weight. My opinion is they are a good quality and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I was trying to match my beaded set named Towle 18/10 but the Towle set I ordered off Amazon was not shiny and the utensils were shorter than my set. This Wallace Continental set matches perfectly.

This Wallace flatware is beautiful, of a good weight and most everything about it makes for a beautiful table setting. The spoon design has changed however. The difference is noticeable when compared to the the Wallace Bead 18/10 service for 12 that I purchased in 2005. In the new set, the bowls of the tea and dinner spoons are deeper and a bit narrower. This is particularly noticeable when having soup or cereal. The flatter design of the older set is much more comfortable (to one's mouth) to use. The other change, to the handle of the table knife is it is no longer of a hollow design and thus isn't as balanced in use. The new service was made in Vietnam, while the older set is marked "China."

We have been shopping for a new set of everyday flatware for a long time. My wife liked this pattern and we decided to try it. The quality is outstanding, and the pieces are large and functional. One of the things I hated about a set my wife previously bought was that the forks were too narrow at the end, making them difficult to "stab" anything ! That may sound stupid, but that is what a fork is for. If you can't "stab" and "shovel" a reasonable amount of food, then the design is pretty, but not functional. This set is both. Beautiful and very functional. Even the spoons are large and deep. I highly recommend. And this was the best price we found.

I’ve had this set for over 25 years and needed to replace missing pieces. I was happy to find the same set at a similar quality. I was concerned that they would be lighter and the grip would not feel as good. I’m happy to share that they haven’t changed.
