Much bigger than original Super slider
I bought this for the grid but I have it on a vintage machine to free motion so may not use that feature and because it is bigger than the original Super Slider it has to go over hinges/ bumps on the old tables. But it sticks well and is slippery good, lol, so I love it. I also bought the original SS, so small it’s hard to believe it could be useful, haven’t used it yet but ima give it a whirl to compare. This one is cheaper and good, but is it too big? Idk. I am wondering though, because the slider covers my bobbin plate which I have to change out often when free motion quilting— as on any machine it would I guess—how long will the stick last and what to do about it when it gives out? Guess we’ll see.

Great tool even when I’m not free motion quilting
I like this gridded mat and keep it in place all the time. It’s very thin and doesn’t catch my material with or without the sewing machine’s feed dogs raised or lowered. The markings align perfectly with my presser foot and are much easier to see and read than what is engraved on the presser foot plate. To change the bobbin I pull the front of the Sew Steady mat up just a bit, do what I need to do, and then press it down again. It adheres well and only requires a damp wipe to clean the back of it to restore its adhesion feature as dust and lint get under its edges. The mat itself is slick and after a few minutes is easily gotten used to. It’s all a learning curve to make the most of a new tool and incorporate it into use. I’ll be buying another one in case the Sew Steady mat goes off the market or becomes difficult to replace.

Works well but is too fragile
These mats are really slick, so my quilts move more easily while I'm quilting on my domestic sewing machine. I like the fact that the feed dogs are not covered by the mat (unlike the other brand I had) thus preventing oopsies that destroy the mat. It also allows me the put my feed dogs up when I want to. My big complaint is that my mat has had limited, gentle use and is already developing several little holes. Apparently the material needs to be thicker so it's not so fragile. Also, I'm not sure what good the grid is since it is covered up when quilting.

Worked nicely for my needs
I was torn over getting the more pricey but better rated supreme slider, or this slider, which has the grid and ruler, and I went with this one because of price and ruler and I am not disappointed. It is a bit longer than I have room under my Pfaff 130, but I didn't cut it because it didn't seem necessary. Sure, it doesn't adhere all the way, but that is not an issue, as under the machine (to the right of the sewing area) I try to limit amount of rolled up quilt sandwich as otherwise it would block the light, so it never got to the point where this imperfect fitment became an issue. I was easily able to align the hole so that I can use the marked lines for any width of seams I am doing, and was also able to extend the lines over the tape I originally used to mark 1/4" for making perfect patchwork seams. And because my sewing machine on an original wooden stand has a hole underneath the work area for a hand to go in to replace bobbin, I never have to take this off, only when I need to clean the bobbin area or oil the machine. Even if it stops being sticky, I think I would still use it by taping it down with masking tape, which would be easy to remove.

Rolls up if not taped down!
This product did make my quilt easier to move around, but only after I used tape on the edges to hold it down! It just wanted to roll up and that made my quilt not move at all! I know it is designed to be removable, but the only I will be able to use it is by taping both the front and back!!

Great product!
I accidentally (negatively) reviewed a product, of similar nature, previously ordered.THIS specific product replaced the inferior product previously ordered. Both the vendor and the product are top notch. For anyone who read my previous review, please know I accidentally mistook (and reviewed) this one thinking it was the one I threw away. This is a great product & I apologize for my error. This product gets five stars!

Garbage. Don’t waste your money. Ripped within 4 hours of use.
I really wanted to like this but it’s garbage. It doesn’t work well with drop in bobbin machines. I wish it was more sturdy. It ripped within the first 4 hours of use. Save your money and save yourself from the frustration

Best slider mat I have ever used!
I love this mat. It is a much better price than I have paid for other mats. Also, it sticks to the table and machine better and does not roll up while moving the quilt (and getting sewing sewn into the quilt---ask me how I know) while doing free-motion work which has happened with other brands of mats. I love that the opening is larger and I can use it with the feed dogs up for regular stitching as well as for free-motion quilting with the feed dogs down. The lines on the mat are helpful as well, especially when sewing diagonal lines---they don't need to be marked before sewing.
