Great quality large size roof box
Very competitive price for this top quality oversized roof box with the expensive Aeroskin finish. Looks great.Free delivery and arrived promptly in two days in perfect condition. Fitting to roof bars couldn’t be simpler and foolproof. Made of thick tough material. Thule quality and design is exceptional and really pleasing that this box is made in the UK so it’s carbon footprint for delivery is kept as small as possible. There’s an awful lot of space in this box and thus international transport would be very uneconomical.

Excellent all round. Get one!
Got this and the matching Thule Wing bars. I also arranged for the keys to match - one key for the bars and box makes things easy! The bars took 20mins to set up first time. Subsequent times they slot on and off in minutes. The box is simply a case of lifting on and tightening the powerclick clamps by hand - do this after opening the boot (trunk) and checking the box is centred. I can lift the box on and off by myself as it’s not heavy. However it is bulky so I ask ‘she who must be obeyed’ for help when storing it.It un/locks easily. My advice is to use holdalls and place them centrally. After each item is placed in the box, close and check it locks before placing further items in it. If an item is too tall, even by an inch, it’ll refuse to lock and you can spend time working out which item stops it otherwise. Tighten using the ratchet straps - place the holdalls ‘inside’ the extended loops you can use and tighten at the end of loading. We drove from central UK to Italy and back through all conditions and everything was fine. We only really heard noise when in The Alps travelling in rain so bad I couldn’t see the road. Sadly my wife was still visible. The rest of the time it was, at worst, like one of the kids had a window very slightly ajar even on the motorway at 130kmh.Mine is the medium sized variant. It fits 4/5 decent holdalls - approx 50L each- plus some other bits and bobs that kids seem to want to take on holiday. If I could, I’d put the bags in the cabin and the kids up in the box as they’d fit if I placed them horizontally. I’d make sure to tighten the ratchet straps good and proper, don’t worry. It’s not like I’d miss their riveting input as they sit ignoring Mont Blanc or Switzerland, instead choosing to play Minecraft on a screen. When we stayed in Annecy, France (beautiful but my god, expensive) the hotel car park had a height limit. It took me and my wife 5 mins to take the box off and store in the hotel’s left luggage (& 5mins to put back on) - it felt longer as it was 37c! 😂. When parking was €8 an hour elsewhere, this felt worthwhile. This is Thule’s ‘entry level’ box from what I can gather. When looking in the store, I couldn’t see what justified the extortionate prices of their more premium ranges. The store assistant seemed to think the premium models looked better. To me they all look decent - well, if you can call a coffin shaped plastic box on your roof decent that is! Roofbox envy is seemingly a thing but it’s a black box, nothing more and this looks better than some of the attempts I witnessed abroad.Subsequently used it on several trips and with the experience I have, it takes me literally minutes to install and pack. I’ve also lent it to friends and it’s maintained its attributes. The only major negative is storing it. I have purchased some brackets and mount it sideways on the shed wall. I nearly purchased a Thule cover to protect it from dust and scratches whilst it hibernates. Then I wobbled my head when I realised this was a £45 addition. An old fitted bed sheet does the job instead. Probably keeps it warm too.

The only way will be to use Tools to turn the ‘Powerclick’ Wheel Shaft, after which the Assembly will probably have to be renewed.
