Money Well-Spent
Bought this in a Medium Plus for my 7 yr old son and 8 yr old daughter. They both are a little tall for their age, and the medium plus fits fine, and has room for them to grow- it could fit them until they're 9.They absolutely LOVE these costumes. From a parental stand-point, I consider it money well-spent, especially since the medium plus is (when I bought it) only $6.They're made of a pretty light, stretchy material, like most children's costumes. They fasten loosely in the back with small velcro tabs- I intend to add snaps since I'm pretty sure my kids will be wearing these for the better part of a year. The mask is also actually a separate piece, a square of black fabric with laces on the top and bottom which tie behind the kids' heads. It looks good, but slips down during play and they're constantly asking me to retie them, so I'll either be sewing the mask to the hood or adding velcro snaps so the kids can take the mask off when they need to eat/drink. The chest piece lined in red is thicker than the rest of the costume, and adds a layer of protection from roughhousing. Not a lot, but it's mentionable. The arm and leg ties are pretty authentic, and look great- but they also tend to slip down or untie often so either the kids trip on them or the cats end up chasing them, and again I have to retie them a lot. I'll be sewing those permanently to the costume- they could also be cut right off without any real detriment to the look of the costume. (They also might need some help untying these the first couple of times they visit the restroom). The costume comes with two light foam fabric shuriken that attach to the foam belt with velcro tabs, and the kids also love these. I love that they can throw them without actually hurting anything or anyone, and it makes them feel super-ninja-y.The costume actually came with a little plastic toy ninja, which made the kids day. Seriously, they shrieked when they saw the toy fall out of their costume bag, almost more than they did when they saw the costumes. It's not super-sturdy, but it'll last. And let's face it, if you want a masterfully crafted costume it's going to cost a bundle- and reasonably so, considering the cost of material and the work going into sewing it. And kids are kids- it doesn't matter how finely crafted or sturdy something is, they'll find a way to rip or tear it.So basically- for the price it's a great costume, whether you're just planning on wearing it once or for months on months. Some alterations might need to be made for long-term use (the mask and straps and ties, as mentioned) if you don't want to constantly retie things, but nothing complicated or difficult. Someone who's never sewn or handled costume adjustments should have no problem dealing with the minor long-term play concerns. Most importantly, MY KIDS LOVE IT. Which makes me pretty happy.

Very Detailed and Well Made, Nylon Material Costume.
Super cute costume for my son's ninja themed birthday party. Pleasantly surprised at the detail (for example, the red piping/trim), for the price point. This is the stretchy nylon Halloween type quality of costume. It is not see through, which is helpful considering that it is black. You enter through the back and it is pretty easy to do since it opens all the way up from the waist with velcro strips. The arm ties are fixed to the costume, which is nice. Would have liked the leg ties to also be, but they are not. They are separate so they may not be around long depending how well they stay on while running around. The belt is separate and attaches with Velcro and is backed with foam so it has a little stiffness to it which allows it to stand up nice and straight. I usually buy higher end costumes because he is a kid who love to dress up and keeps them for years but this he chose himself and it is very cute, so even if he abuses it to an early retirement I am happy with it because of the really great details it has that so many others lack. You really can't go wrong with this one.He is wearing the size 8-10 and it fits like a glove. As you can see he is thin, and he is a tad short for his age. The sleeves have a little length to spare but the legs do not I used the sizing chart for this product and expected it might be big due to the information, however it is not. Considering his size and the got of this costume I would guess that this would NOT fit an average 10 year old boy or possibly even a girl, and that a 9 year old boy may be a stretch, however a 9 year old girl would probably be fine with it. He is 8 years old and is a true standard size 7 in Carters and OshKosh sized clothing.

Decent ninja costume (if your standards aren't too high)
My son enjoyed wearing this costume...while it lasted. At this price, I didn't expect an heirloom-quality costume that would endure the ravages of my 4-year-old's ninja fantasies, so I wasn't too disappointed when it ended up in tatters. That said, there are a few things parents might want to consider before purchasing:1) The costume fastens (with velcro) in the back, so younger children won't be able to get it on/off independently to use the restroom. The design of this outfit is definitely not friendly to potty-trainers or those who wait until the absolute last second to run to the bathroom.2) The ties around the legs (which are sewn on) refuse to stay up. The end up falling down around the ankles, get stepped on, and come untied. I cut them off to avoid the tripping hazard.3) The head piece is actually two pieces. The top part is a hood that's attached to the bodysuit. The other piece is a kind of like a medical mask design that ties around the back of the head. My kiddo opted not to use that part.4) If you intend for your child to wear this outside, he'll need to wear something underneath it as the fabric is about as thin as it can possibly be.5) It does run small (and long). Unless your child is very slender, you'll probably want to size up and prepare to roll up the sleeves and pant legs. All in all, this served our purposes well for a reasonable price.

My son loves this costume
was not the highest quality fabric, but was decent enough for Halloween (was not warm enough to wear alone) and for playtime!

Cute costume
Cute costume, my son loved it. I bought a medium (8-10) based on the comments that it runs a bit small but it was actually quite big on my son, who is 6 years old and pretty tall for his age. It still worked and looked great and actually in some ways it was good that it was big on him because we layered him up underneath the costume to keep him warm while trick or treating so he didn't have to wear a jacket overtop and hide his costume. Having said that, the small would likely have been a better fit on him.

it looks really good, unfortunately it ripped on the first use
the suit looks really good an my son loved it, only issue was that the fabric around the neck ripped straight away on first use, maybe the design needs a bit of stitch strengthening.
