84079 Safflower Seed Wild Bird Food, 50 lb

This is the second winter that we've used this bird seed and I think that all of the birds in the neighborhood have found our feeder! We are not really "birders" -- at least not particularly knowledgeable about the various species, but we do enjoy seeing them feed at our feeder during the cold winter months. At one time during a snowy month last winter we spotted 13 bright red Cardinals waiting their turns at the feeder. What a delight! (And what a photograph I was able to get!) This seed also seems to attract a variety of different birds (Chickadees, Blue Jays and even a Woodpecker) giving us an ongoing view from our kitchen window. The 50# bag lasts us most of the year, so we feel it's a very convenient and economical purchase. This will be our seed purchase of choice for the future!

Really quality clean seed for my bird feeder. I mix with black oil sunflower seed. Happy bird friends to watch in my Droll Yankee bird feeder hanging from my deck rail by an attached bird feeder hook that swings out into view from the kitchen windows and kitchen table. Fun to watch them from my computer which is on the table. The Droll Yankee bird feeder model (with the curved up lipped plate on the bottom which I purchased separately, catches most of sunflower hulls. The safflower seed leaves no trash. This feeder is then only 8-10 feet from view as I'm working on my computer.Cardinals, finches, titmice, chicadees, thrushes, tow hees, nuthatches, etc. come and add joy to my day.

This vendor ships quickly. The packaging is solid, clean and the seeds are fresh. Birds (Georgia feeders) love these, but the squirrels DON'T which is a bonus! When folded and clipped (bag clip closure) the product stays fresh and safe from other unwanted seed thieves.

Great value for a great product

The upside: birds will eat it and squirrels won't. It also doesn't leave as much of a mess as black sunflower seeds do. I would have given it 5 stars, but birds don't like it quite as much as they do sunflower seeds. The bag itself is a plain brown wrapper, but it does come with one of those zippy strings that you can pull all the way out *if* you can find the right thread. I've kept mine in a large sealed plastic container, and they have kept for several months without problem. I like these and will continue ordering them since it's nice not to end up feeding only the squirrels.

The birds love it, the squirrels love it, but there is no way in 2 hockey sticks that I’m paying over $100 for a bag of bird seed.I’ve purchased 9 bags total and have been happy with the quality and shipping. I was done on my last purchase in 2022 and still not playing this crazy game. My birdies (and squirrels) eat much more affordable feed and still enjoy my feeders.

There are very few, if any, little sticks that come with most brands of safflower and very little dust. Packaged in a nearly indestructible bag. Came in just 2 days by UPS. The cardinals love it, the squirrels and black birds not so much. Best price per pound around. Monster Pets seems to be the best seller, has been reliable for me (bought 3 times, shipping time much faster than advertised, usually 2 days).

Arrived on time, immediately put it out and the birds flocked to it. Good quality, not all the seeds are uniform in color but the birds don’t seem to mind. Great value for the money. Will definitely buy again.
