Worth the price
I’ve used only bargain vacuums my whole life and finally decided to spend the money for a better experience. My first decision was to get a canister vac, because maneuvering an upright around furniture and using it for stairs was driving me nuts. Once you want a canister, the choices are pretty stark: a super cheap Bissell, a mid tier Kenmore or Dyson, or the Miele. After using it a few times I’m already convinced that the Miele is worth the extra money.Miele could make it easier to choose a model from their line up. Let me explain how I landed on the Calima because maybe that will help someone else looking. I have allergy and asthma sufferers in my house so it was the C3 Complete over the C1 for me because of the sealed bagged system and the HEPA filter. I have a decent sized house, so it was the full size over the compact, which has a bag about 1 cu. ft. smaller than the full size. Then it comes down to which combo of floorheads that you want. I have lots of hardwoods and tile with a few low pile area rugs and a few high pile area rugs. After seeing reviews I really wanted the parquet twister for the hard woods because of its maneuverability. I also wanted a turbo brush (air powered) for the rugs. The Alize, which is the other base model in the C3 Complete line, only comes with the combination head. So that left me with the Calima. If you have a lot of carpet you are looking at spending more to get a model with the electric floorheads.I love this vacuum. Getting around the house with it is a breeze. You can drag it around by the hose and it never gets kinked. The vacuum has rubber bumpers on it so you don’t ding up the furniture or walls. The parquet twister lets you get into small areas and right up against the baseboards. You can lay the whole wand flat and get it under sofas and dressers (which might be my favorite thing for ditching the upright). The turbo brush did a good job on the low pile rugs. To allow the floorhead to glide more easily just dial back the suction a few ticks. The brush does pick up and wind a lot of hair around the brush, but it didn’t keep mine from spinning. The telescoping wand makes it really easy to vacuum the dust off your floor molding without having to bend down. It is very quiet (like you can have a conversation while it is running) and the HEPA filter means that the exhaust doesn't give off that musty vacuum odor. The only cons: the turbo brush did not perform as well on the high pile rug, but this was expected. My rugs are pretty cheap, though, and I’d rather replace them than spend hundreds more for the electro brush. And I was able to drag them across the rugs. The brush didn’t always spin, but at least the suction was there. I also wish the Calima came with the nicer “comfort handle” that the Alize comes with. It looks like a definite upgrade, though you can always buy one later from Miele. I also think the Homecare comes with it too. (Note: the C3 Homecare is only sold by Miele retail dealers, and to get you in the store it comes with a unique combo of floorheads, some extra nozzles, and a longer warranty. If the Homecare had the right combo of floorheads that I wanted I probably would have gone to the local retailer because they had it for the same $699 price as the Calima.)So, if you can get through the confusion of selecting which model you want and can stomach the high cost, I highly recommend one of these vacuums. I don’t know if my house has ever been so clean. Oh, and the package deal with the 16 bags and an extra HEPA filter for an extra $100 turns out to be a good deal too. It costs about $20 for a pack of four bags and the HEPA filter is $50 on the Miele website.

The best vacuum available!
This is my second Miele vacuum cleaner. My last one is 20 years old and had an issue with the button to turn it on. I took it to the repair shop but while waiting more than 2 weeks, I bought a new one. I’m so glad I did, this vacuum is amazing! My old one was great too but this one is lighter and works much better. Even though this isn’t for pets, it works well with pets too. It’s light, has great suction and is simply the best vacuum you can buy. Yes, it’s not cheap but these vacuums last!

Tops in vacuums! Highly recommend!
We are very pleased with this vacuum! Costly, worth the price for good equipment! for use at home! I have always thought you get what you pay for! One plus is that it glides smoothly across the floor! Also, the filters will not allow dust to seep out like so many other brands so often do! Also, this vacuum has a Hepa filter in addition and with people in families who might have allergies, well, a must in my opinion!

Amazing Purchase
I adore my new vacuum. After using a 20 year old canister vacuum, it was a joy to use this light weight, powerful vacuum. I love the ease of using this vac. It moves smoothly and easily around my house. The power is amazing. It quickly removes dust and cat hair from my rugs. The HEPA feature was essential in choosing a new vacuum, and this one ticks all the boxes. It came with a good supply of bags and an additional filter. great purchase!

Worst vacuum ever
I have used Miele vacuums in the past and they were great. But this vacuum is a not the same quality at all. Its heavy, cumbersome to use, and the attachments are clunky. The floor attachment is a joke and doesnt get even low pile carpets clean. The cord constantly sucks back into the cannister while your vacuuming because the lightest tug triggers the cord to auto retract. The plug also gets so hot it burns your hand when you touch. My biggest complaint is how big and heavy the whole thing is, good luck maneuvering around and under furniture because you cant with this. It hurts my body just to use this hunk a junk. And the price is outrageous, there is no way this pos is worth over a grand. And the replacement bags and filters are super spendy as well. Save your money and buy literally anything else. Ive had $200 vacuums that worked better than this and didnt hurt my back.

Terrible instruction manual
This appears to be a very good canister vac in accordance with their reputation. One would think that for such a pricey item they could do a country and model specific manual. Instead they provide a multi-lingual and multi model manual which makes it hard to figure out what features/instructions apply to the one you have. It is confusing and very unhelpful. Their web site is no better. All manufacturers seem to be doing this now: we've just bought a new refrigerator which came with the same type of multi lingual and multi model reference that took hours to parse to figure out the features we had and didn't have. This is crap!Pros: Great suction and lightweight/easy to move aroundCons: Terrible manual, bag and filter lock-in forever (must use their replacements for warranty) Tools are smallish and some useful tools are "available from your dealer." Again for such a pricey item they should just throw in the $20 extra tools. Our last canister vac started to fall apart after 9 1/2 years. I hope this one outlives me. Considering the price it surely should.

What a great vacuum!
Super quiet, maneuvers easily and has plenty of suction power. Compact enough for easy storage and the arm allows for vacuuming under all types of furniture. Worth every penny
