Sets very quick
This is a little tricky to get used to, but sets very quick and very hard surface. Excellent product, but does have some smell.

Way better than the other brand and type
I used Aqua "jacket" brand on one side of a guitar body and the Solerez UV cure on the other. Hands down the Solerez is a better product because it has next to no shrinkage and it took 3 coats to fill in the grain on Ash wood and it took 7 coats of the A-coat to get the same results. The Solerez sands much nicer as well.

Simple test of the Grain Filler product.
1. It's expensive for the volume you receive, and the suggested application is four coats.2. I did a simple test: rub some on a portion of a scrap piece of wood and place in the sunlight for 5 minutes. It did feel dry to the touch. Interestingly (a) the portion of wood that received the product was noticeably warmer to the touch (2 def F using a infrared thermometer) indicating what I would believe would be an exothermic reaction (not a chemist) and (2) I dropped beads of water on the area that received the product (no absorption) and on areas where the product was not applied (almost immediate absorption)... this would point towards a very positive result!3. No smell per se, but I maybe have the worst sniffer in the world. :-)

I used both grain sealers
I started using grain sealer because HD wasn't really cutting it for the wood department. I purchased both major brands of the grain sealer and this one definitely works perfect. For those who don't know, this will help smooth out wood grain and help with a glassy smooth feel. It's definitely some extra steps but it brings your wood working to the next level.

Simple to use.
Easiest finish job I ever did and looks great.

Good for light color, non porous wood only
Used this on some redwood as a sealer and clear coat in one. It was a failure. The resin soaked into the wood and everything below the surface never cured. Sunlight couldn’t get to it. I tried a UV flashlight and that didn’t fix it either. Huge pain. Going to use Z-Poxy going forward. With pine, I had better results. Less porous and a light color to reflect light back through the resin to cure the deeper stuff.

Does what is says it will do
Used it for a scroll saw project before painting. Applied 4 coats as directed. It really does do an excellent job makes the wood, glass smooth paint looks great on it. It is pricey in my opinion but very little is needed after the 1st coat
