Disgusted with ballpoint pen poor performance—meaning I usually had to scribble on scratch paper 1st before they would write without skipping—I replaced most of them with gel pens. The ink in those does not dry very quickly, though, hence my need for a blotter.I don't mind blotting with a paper towel, if necessary, in the kitchen, but I wanted something nicer here at my desk. This handsome one—with wood that matches my desk & its white metal pulls—that includes refill papers caught my eye immediately. Since I rarely write more than a name or something short, this size blotter is more than adequate & will last me for years. Even so, I watched the video in the listing to see how to replace the blotting paper which I saw requires little more than unscrewing the handle. I love it and if my kitchen weren't crowded enough already, I'd buy a 2nd one for in there.

Loved it! Infact, I don’t know how I managed to use fountain pens for so many years without it. I have a bigger one that I keep on my desk and I use this one at home or when I’ll be traveling. Beautiful and functional. And the packaging was just lovely. I may have to buy another!

I hand sew leather journals and hand make feather quill dip pens. This rocking ink blotter (which I use daily), will always have a home on my writing desk.

I have a silver fountain pen and now a silver blotter. It works wonderfully and is just beautiful. I 3D printed a stand for it and the pen that added to the functionality. It comes with several replacement blotters.

I like this product because it blots up excess ink and prevents smears. Just be careful about ink characteristics - some inks take a while to start drying, and blotting too soon might take up more ink than you were planning, leaving a very faded image behind.

I use fountain pens, so this baby has gotten a bit of a workout. I love it and I use it a lot...and you don't really need to buy replacement blotters (though - I do) easy enough to create some of your own. It's nice to be able to shove my letters and cards into their envelopes without worrying about the ink spreading across the entirety of the card, right?!! Get one if you need a blotter. It'll make your writing/journaling/crafting process more fun. And you'll be surprised how much you use it.
