Lots of fun for those family game nights! As long as you can spell you’re old enough to play!

My wife and our friends have been huge Scrabble fans from way back. We were playing a lot of the Scrabble beta app on Facebook, but were getting tired of all the bugs. Plus, a good old-fashioned face to face game can't be beat. This set hasn't changed a bit from the version I played as a kid. This is the no frills version: the board doesn't revolve lazy Susan style and the tile bag is just made of plastic. Other than that, the game materials are high quality. As for game play, if you happen to be that rare person who has never played Scrabble, it is a classic board game and a ton of fun. And yes, it is educational and encourages literacy.

Bought this last week after seeing it for more at Target. No, it doesn't come with score cards but we don't have a problem doing the simple math ourselves. We keep score on a sheet of paper, no problem. The board lies flat, the tiles are lightweight, and we've no problem with the game. It's fun, even if I do often end up with gruesome letters, like E E E I U O Z. I pick them though, so it is what it is! As for the dictionary, we both agreed at the beginning to use dictionary.com and not to use any proper nouns or abbreviations. If you're worried about bumping the board and sending the tiles flying, play on a table and be mindful! I would recommend getting a lazy suzan to place the board on though, since I hate craning my neck to see the board when it's not facing me. Overall, love the game, and have no qualms with anything about it!

I sent this as a gift to an assisted living facility where many of the residents are physically or developmentally disabled and of various ages. I was surprised and delighted to learn that it has become a favorite for groups of no more than two or three. It is challenging but understandable and the players seem to pick equally capable opponents, so it doesn't add frustration, but rather gives satisfaction when words are completed..

I have no problems with the game, it's terrific and have played for years, and now play on my smartphone as well.This review has to do with the company Webbblossomstudios that fulfilled the order. They did not put the game in a box or padded bag but just wrapped it in plastic with a label. It arrived with the corners of the box rubbed off and damaged. I am not sending it back, to much of a hassle, but just an FYI, not a sensible way to send something.

Scrabble is one of the few games that has withstood the test of time. This version is fantastic, comes at a great price and is used on a weekly basis. This is one of the best games available to keep your mind active, especially as you get older. It's highly recommended.

This game is fun when you play using the rules, without the rules (who needs scores?), and even without the board (speed scrabble, also known as bananagrams)! I would highly recommend it for families and adults. It is difficult to play with young children, as they don't know many words and sometimes try to eat the tiles.
