Good American Children’s safety book
Very good book, explains things very well, but some words and emergency numbers are in American, so only applies to children living in America !

... out others from the library to look for a good intro to safety book for my 3 year old ...
We have purchased several books and checked out others from the library to look for a good intro to safety book for my 3 year old and this is my favorite. This introduces safety tips, such as simply crossing the street, yet ranges to scarier stuff (without being scary) such as strangers, private parts, and more. It even broaches the subject of intuition and having a bad feeling which I think is important. Very age appropriate for 3+ or basically whenever you can have a conversation with your child. I also appreciate that it shows different genders and ethnicity. The illustrations are modern enough as well. The affirmation of, "I can be safe" is helpful. I will say though, not one book is enough, but this one is still top in my opinion. I highly recommend reading multiple books because it gives you a more well rounded approach to conversations of safety with your child. Another book in particular I recommend is "Amazing You."

The book does what it says
It describes various situations a child may be in and instructs them on how to be safe.

one of those books that just clicks
My four year old son and I love this book. It introduces many different aspects of being safe and provides questions for you to start conversations with your child. I was looking for a book about "stranger danger" and this book was just enough to start those discussions. I also liked how it explains the nature of our body and how it warns us about danger, yet sometimes it's ok to try something you feel afraid of, like a roller coaster. This book is more than basic "safety" and I totally recommend it!
