Amazing bass for under $1000
I have wanted a MusicMan Stingray for years, but simply couldn't justify spending $2500 on a bass since I no longer play outside my bedroom. I had heard good things about stuff coming out of Indonesia, so I thought I'd give the Sterling a try. I am very impressed. A roasted maple neck in this price range is impressive and the fretwork is impeccable. They even rolled the edges of the neck so that it is super smooth and easy to play, and the satin finish on the neck feels amazing. The rest of the bass feels just as substantial and well made and it was set up and ready to play out of the box. Pots are all smooth and the switch is solid and it even came with a very nice, well padded gig bag. But the best part is that classic Stingray sound. I'm still in shock that this is an $800 instrument. It feels, plays and sounds like something that should cost at least twice that much. Couldn't be happier.
