Good Quality, Fits 2012 Model Just Fine, Great Wiring Harness
This fit perfectly on the 2012 Jeep Wrangler. I verified with the manufacturer just to be certain. Seems well made, really the only criticism I could make is that the instructions are a little vague in a couple of spots. But this is very easy to install, and took under 1 hour start to finish for everything. I recommend removing the bumper before you start, as this is MUCH easier to install without the stock plastic bumper in the way. There are only 6 bolts holding the bumper on, and since it's plastic, it removes easily. You'll save yourself a lot of time by taking the bumper off first. The included hardware is heavy duty, and seems almost overkill considering the maximum trailer load on these is 2,000/3,500 pounds depending on model. The instructions describe removing the factory tow hook first. Note that this refers to the center mounted tow hook. My model has a tow hook on the drivers side, which does NOT need to be removed for this to be installed. The wiring harness fit perfectly and is nicely designed to keep the harness up and out of the way. Make sure you snap in every white plastic anchor on the harness - each and every one lines up perfectly with the factory mounting points. Make sure the one behind the tail light snaps into the assembly. I took the tail light all the way and sat it out of the way and then spent several minutes looking for where to mount the harness only to realize it mounts to the light itself.Good product, and far cheaper than the OEM component.

Works great on Rubicon X bumper
Bought this for my 2015 Rubicon X unlimited (aka hard rock edition) with the stock steel bumpers. Both hitch receiver & wiring harness fit just fine on this bumper, which should be same as previous rubicon X bumpers (since 2013). The receiver feels well built & coating seems fine. Instructions for receiver & harness were included. You can also get good instructions from a Jeep parts site that starts with a Q - probably can't list it here. The steel X bumper is threaded, so hitch receivers with welded-on nuts will not work on these. The Rubicon X steel bumper comes from factory with 4 bolts pre-installed where the hitch goes, which are there to secure the bumper to the frame. To install, you will need to re-use these bolts with the hitch - the bolts that come with this hitch are probably too short but aren't needed anyway. Just remove the bolts & the metal spacer bar between the frame & steel bumper & install the hitch. The spacer bar can be discarded. There are small, thin metal washers that keep the bolts from backing out that may require needle nose pliers to hold while unscrewing the bolts. Discard them as well. Hardest part of installation was just removing & installing the bolts. The wiring harness was very easy to install - just plug and play. It includes clips that are pushed into pre-drilled holes in the frame that secure the harness. My pictures don't show the harness installed.

Installed with Bumper On -- Duck Tape :)
I just installed this today. Everything looks good and works well on my 2012 jk. The bolts are metric 8.8. That's equivalent to grade 5. The hitch fit on the crossmember easily with about an 1/8" gap. When tightened down the gap went away. The powder coat looks good.INSTALL TIPSI was able to install the hitch without removing anything by duck tapeing the washer and nut on. You need to tape 2 opposite sides of the nut and washer. I also taped the nut and washer separate. The bolt is 19mm (you'll need an open ended wrench this size or 3/4") and the nut is 18mm (you'll want a socket for that). I put a bar over my ratchet to get the bolt torqued down real good. I would wear safety goggles and bring a small pillow to rest your head on.The wire harness is easy to install. You only need to unscrew the 2 innermost screws on the driver break light (the outside 2 just hold the light cover on). Then just wiggle it a bit and it will pop off. Put the screws back in a few turns right after removal so you dont lose them. You unplug the wire harness for the driver break light by pressing the middle "button" on the harness and wiggle. The trailer harness goes in that spot. The wire easily runs through a hole in the bottom of that cavity. I ran the wire over the top of the frame rail and behind the body bolt. I would add a couple 14" zip ties to back up the push plugs. The push plugs attach to the wire loom with just a couple wraps of electrical tape. The whole install should take about an hour and is rather easy. Anyone can do this.

This is the one you want
For my wife's 2016 4 door Jeep Rubicon. I do not work under the hood of cars - I recognize my limitations. But the good thing about Jeeps is that it is easy to work on body parts, they use simple nuts and bolts with regular sizes. From other reviews, I knew that the best approach was to remove the bumper first. It only takes a couple of bolts and makes installing the hitch very easy. After removing the bumper, it was only about ten minutes to put the bolts in place and mount the hitch. Four screws and the left rear tail light cover was removed. No tools required to disconnect the power cable and insert the trailer cable. Drop the cable down and reinstall the cover. Route the cable along the frame (be careful and check the route before you attach it), and finally use the included and attached inserts to secure the cable in place. Put the bumper back on and you are done. Attaching the bumper is the only part even mildly challenging and that is just because you have to hold it up while inserting the bolts. I just set it up on a stool, but it would have been even easier with someone else to hold it.So with no experience doing this and no mechanic qualifications, this took me about an hour. The only tools required were a socket set and a screwdriver. This is solid hitch and Jeep makes it easy to install. I strongly recommend this,
