Great gold automatic watch for special occasions
Bottomline: Great gold automatic watch for special occasions. Original design, tasteful display caseback and superb movement with Seiko quality. The bad reviews this watch has are from people with little knowledge about automatic movements. This is an automatic, which means it requires the movement of your wrist to keep the mainspring wound through the rotation of the eccentric rotor you see on the display caseback. You shake it to get it going and the movement of your wrist throughout the day while wearing it it will create a power reserve of approximately 40 hours. One guy said his watch didn't make it through the night, this has not been the case for any of my four Seiko 7s26s, I think he just had a sedentary night and did not wear it enough to have a good power reserve.Same guy mentioned the two languages "getting in the way." Let me tell you guys, I'm one of the people who likes two languages. I have mine set to Spanish all the time because it's my mother tongue, and honestly it looks cooler. The trick to setting your Seiko 7s26 movement so the language doesn't surprise you:1) Make sure the hour hand is sitting between 4 AM and 9 PM. Why? you ask. Well, this movement does all it's date and day business between 9 PM to 3 AM. At 9 PM the date starts to slowly change, by 12 it's the next date and the day changes into your /other language/ not the one you have set. This is normal, just before 3 the day changes again to your desired language.2) Pull out the crown to the first stop, then set the date and day of /yesterday/. Again, you ask, why?! Well, people always complain about the date changing on then at noon and it's because they don't follow this key step. If today is Sunday the 17th, set your watch to Saturday the 16th in your preferred language.3) Actual time setting. Pull the crown to the second stop and go around one whole day, you will see the date change, the day change to the other language first, then to your desired language by 3 AM. Now you now it's definitely in the AM range, so you can set it accordingly.Ok, that out of the way, about the watch. The case and bracelet are just a bit different in color. It flies under the nose of most people but if you have a keen eye you'll notice. That's one of the downfalls of the Seiko 5 series, the bracelets have been made a bit frugally to save costs. Still, this is an automatic gold-plated watch for $100, so no foul on my book. The 7S26 movement is truly a workhorse, and accurate to boot. The display caseback is a really nice touch so you can see all the neat little jewels and gears ticking away. You can put it to your ear and hear the urgent yet soothing ticking. It has two languages to spice things up. The Saturday and Sunday in each language are a different color, red and light blue respectively, so as to indicate "Hey, it's my day off!" It does not hack, i.e. the second hand does not stop moving when the crown is pulled out, which is a pain when you want to be 100% accurate but a 30 +/- difference never hurt anyone. You can reverse the second hand by rotating the crown counterclockwise in the time setting position, to better match local time, but I'm not sure if this is bad for the movement. The case is beautifully plated and very light. The bracelet is a bit too light maybe but it's great since as a whole the watch feels very light on the wrist, you forget it's there. About the size; some people have said it's too small. I disagree, at 37 mm diameter, this is a very standard watch size. Fashion trends, which come and go, have made diameters go as big as 50 mm. Ideally you want something that fits inside your shirt cuff. The dial has many Seiko 5 logos. Some people might not like this, but it is almost unnoticeable unless you really look closely. The indices and lume are fantastic, as expected from Seiko.I reiterate, for a $100, this is a steal. Gold, automatic, quality from Seiko and reliability from their 7S26 movement, and this is not just another watch pretending to be a gold Rolex Datejust, it has it's own flavor.I have a feeling the watch band will fade quickly as one user stated here, so it might not be a good idea to use this watch daily. I save mine for special events. If you want a solid daily look at any of Seiko's other 5 series offerings, some are even around $50!

seiko quality
Seller is great. Fast free shipping. Excellent price. Watch looks good and works like it should. Wore Seiko watches for years and have been satisfied with them. I did notice if you dont wear it daily then it loses time . I think the automatic winder needs to be done daily . If you dont wear it daily then buy a battery watch and not an automatic. This is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars. Kind of thought it would stay wound longer between uses.

It’s is very complicated to adjust and seiko made sure not to throw in a tool smh way to go seiko
Seiko did not throw in any kind of tool and it is impossible to do it any other way! So thanks now I have to go to a jeweler or order something on Amazon and waste more money
