Solar Panel Fan Ventilation
I put this solar fan on my 22 ft sailboat. Extremely quiet and it works well. The only drawback is that if a cloud passes over or something blocks the sunlight from the solar panel the fan stops but that is to be expected. I decided not to go with the fan with a battery back up because of potential problems with the battery. I would recommend this solar panel ventilation fan. For a bigger boat, I would use 2 fans. I mounted mine on my front hatch cover.

Dont buy it, waste of money. Does not work more the 5 days.
Worst item I have bought in amazon. I received the solar exhaust on the 29 of April. I installed in the metal roof of my shed the next day. After 5 days it stoped working, you push the blades and it wants to start but dies in 10 seconds.I can't return it because is glued and attached to the roof of the shed and if I take it out, then it would leave an 8 inch hole in my roof.I dont recomend anyone to buy this product.

Great little vent fan for 1.5 years and counting.
I have 3 of these on my solar shed to keep fresh air moving through it all day. They have been installed for over a year and a half now, and just work great! The in/out switch is nice, because when the weather is good, I have one blow in and one blow out to keep it nice and fresh inside. I would highly recommend these fans.

broken after a few months (2 of them!)
This product has a defect. The bearings start failing after a few months. Starts squealing. Then stops working. After the first failure they sent me a new one (good customer support). But the second one failed too. When I told them, they asked me to spray some wd40 on it. That is not the solution!. The fan bearings are not well designed and this product will fail within a year.

Reasons you do not want the model with a battery back-up.
1. You don't want it running at night anyway. At night, the fan will be drawing in damp night air, replenishing the humid air the fan vented out all day. Better to let it shut down at night and only vent out air during the daytime.*2. Longevity. Without the battery, the unit will run less than half the time it would with a battery, resulting in less than half the wear on the motor and bearings. It should last more than twice as long as the one with a battery if...reason #3 doesn't happen first.3. The battery doesn't last forever either. It may fail before the motor or bearings do.*The main purpose of this fan is to vent air OUT of the boat to prevent mold and humid, stale air WHILE YOU ARE AWAY - which is probably 95% of the time. Therefore, it must be in vent "OUT" mode to accomplish that.

I've installed 3 of these on 3 vans
Great for van life! If your running anything in your van that needs vent. Like gas stoves propane heaters etc.No need to burn up the battery on your max air fan.You want the one with the batteries it's silly not to.As you can see in the pic I'm in a blizzard and I'm running a propane heater inside staying warm but I don't have to worry about fumes with the fan venting. No sun out today but the battery is running it otherwise it would be worthless.Get one!

pretty anemic ! barely any airflow
i bought this to circulate the air in a deer blind as the evening sun makes it hot in there.. i placed this on a board and sized it to fit the window .. it turns! but it barely blows any air in .. i left it running a few hours and came back to pretty much the same amount of heat as before.. overall it may end up a waste of $ .. i'll try it one more time , but may return it , if still possible!

Junk
This is complete junk, it stopped working within days. I took it out cleaned it out it back in and it worked for a few more days before it stopped for good. I am past the return window so now I’m stuck with a hole in my shed. One other thing to add, I live in Las Vegas so there is plenty of sunlight.
