Great output for a small fan
We needed this size fan because we have loft beds and regular size fans get too close to the beds and ladders.Pros: easy to install. I have never installed a ceiling fan and I made it through installing a lot of it by myself.Very quiet.Great output.Cons:The manual. There is no equipment list with the instructions so for some steps I was mainly consulting the pictures. The diagrams were good enough that I could do this, but it still would have been nice to have an equipment list. For instance, I assumed the sound dampening screws were in a separate bag and, in fact they were still screwed into the motor base. It was easy enough to figure out, but a lot of people like to inventory before they start and might think pieces are missing.*A note on wiring: if you are a novice like me, make sure that you make note of how things were connected. I got to the step about whether it was pull chain wired or wall controlled wired and that was confusing until I remembered that one of the wire nuts I took apart to remove the old fan had both a blue and black wire connected. The fan is perfect, doesn’t wobble, doesn’t make any noise whatsoever and is really nice looking. And I feel proud that we could get it done ourselves.

perfect for our space
We have an old ranch with a miniscule "dining" area, so small we just extended our kitchen workspace into the area. We didn't really need a high power light, but needed something in the area. We struggled with coming up with a lighting solution that would work with the other lights and the area. Daughter suggested a fan, and this Fan was perfect. It throws just enough light, it fits nicely into our small space and it throws off a good little breeze. We were looking for a sort of "jetson's country kitchen" vibe, and this fan met the bill. The chrome is 50's shiny, the fan blades reverse, we have butcherblock counters so used the reverse side from what is shown - agood color for a country kitchen, the darker side is a little more modern looking. We did not try to install a remote or wireless control, so I can't speak to whether or not that can be done, we just flip the switch and the fan and light come on. (it came with short and long chains as well, we chose short to keep it out of the way). Cannot beat the price. Highly recommend this for someone looking for a fan for a small area.

I love this small fan that does
I love this small fan that does, in fact, have an origami design. My master closet is large, also holds my dresser and linen shelves, and has a ceiling sky light. The latter brings in excessive heat during the summer. Since I spend a lot of time in this closet, this fan has solved the problem of the heat. The light is not particularly bright, but I have other lighting in the closet as well. The fan works surprisingly well for its small size. I highly recommend it for a small space, but don't count on it alone for lighting. It comes in two color styles--the chrome and this dark one.

Cutest little fan - moves air well
The installation of this fan was a cinch and its perfect for this odd space I had in my studio apartment between the hallway and the living/sleeping area. Its very quiet even on the highest speed - the only sound you hear is the pleasant whooshing of air. I also love that the direction of the blades are reversible so I'll be able to get the benefits of this little fan year-round. Keeping me cool in the summer and helping to pull down the warmer air in the winter. So happy with this purchase - delivery was fast too!

Too many pieces and not enough parts!
I have put together and installed MANY fans, and this one was the most frustrating of all! I usually buy Hunter fans. They are easy to put together, always include extra hardware, they function extremely well, and they last for years. Unfortunately, they do not make a fan small enough for my tiny home office, so I opted for this Westinghouse. As far as function goes, if you have a very small area, this little guy moves the air well and looks great. But, It is a bear to put together!First, I received an incomplete hardware packet, which is unbelievable considering there seemed to be a gazillion little pieces in the packet! The blades require washers, screws and a decorative nut to attach to the blade arm. My packet had 3 missing washers, two missing screws and two extra decorative nuts. We had to scrounge up and cut off screws to get this fan going! Come on, Westinghouse! A few extra pieces of hardware would not break the bank and would make customers more likely to buy your fans again.Secondly, the blades attach to the motor with itsy-bitsy lock washers and screws. Yet there is no protective foam or fabric to keep the little parts from falling into the motor.Once put together, the fan is easy to hang and wire up and I have no complaints as far as function. The fan is quiet and moves air nicely. I just wish quality control was more careful with parts distribution. And since I am wishing, I wish Hunter made a 24 inch fan!

Compact fan that moves air, but not much light.
I finally got around to installing this thing today, after it had been sitting for several months. As ceiling fans go, it was fairly easy to install. Putting together the blades was a bit of a pain, but I suppose the small package size is a big part of making it affordable, so I'll take it. I needed a small-diameter fan to go in a stairwell to move warm air from upstairs back downstairs. It fits, and I realize now I probably could have gone larger, but oh-well. Seems to be fairly good quality. The part I dreaded most (connecting the wires while holding the fan in one hand at the top of a ladder) went smooth as can be, thanks to the ball and notched-socket design of the hanger. My only complaint is it only has one small light bulb socket. It doesn't give off much light, and the one LED bulb I had in-stock that fit the socket wouldn't fit under the globe. I was BARELY able to fit a wireless remote control unit into the valance. Also, as others have stated, the difference between slow and fast doesn't seem to be much. All three speeds seem to be fairly fast. I suppose this is to make up for the fact that it's small in diameter, but still, I would have probably preferred the "slow" speed actually be slow.
