Fantastic, solid crossbars
Very easy to install on my 2017 Outback since I had already bought the right landing pads, towers, and sl adapters. The 78" bars are just narrower than my side mirrors. So, this is a setup I'll use for kayaking and being able to be a helpful shuttle vehicle, but I won't leave them on all the time because it'll be too easy to whap my head if I'm not thinking about it. But the towers make it really easy to put them on and take them off. Got them on a 20% off sale, which is pretty hard to beat unless you can find these bars used. And they hold up so well, that's pretty rare unless someone is just getting out of the sport or changed vehicles.

Great product
I like the product other than the part where I sold part of my soul to purchase it; PRICEY! Easy to install yourself. It does take some time for adjustments, but the built in measuring marks help. It's sturdy as can be. I use mine for many things like carrying my kayaks, wood, and ladders. It looks good on the truck too.The crossbar in the picture is the medium 60". It works great and can handle two kayaks sitting side by side without hanging off. The loops on the ends are incredibly helpful.

Very easy install & fit perfect
Love how easy it was to install. I bought the towers and cross rails. Feels very sturdy and I can’t wait to test it out this summer. Very fast delivery!

Quality and appearance
The size I got looks perfect! Its not to long or to short. I have a Ford F-150 2016 eco boost, and it looks sharp! I love it! Another big thing to me is parking. I can still drive into down town parking lots because of the adjustable rack. Huge thanks! The Yakima ladder rack looks great with or without my ladder on it. I highly recommend this! My old ladder rack I bought was from northern tool. It was so high that I couldn’t enter garage parking lots. Best investment by far!

Good product
Ordered through Amazon but I had to wait a while. These racks are hard to get. I pieced the entire rack through different sources.

I wanted a smooth install
After ordering the towers ($990) and the slotted screws adapter kit ($100) for my retrax tonneau cover I was pissed when I receivedthe HD Yakima after spending this money to realize there were no crossbars. I had to order the x-bars ($318). Thinking that they would be a quick install I began the install. The socket hex bolts were a pain to get them threaded into the sliding plate inside the track. All the bolts closest to the towers would not thread especially when using the washer and lock nut. Of the 8 blots that had to go in, 4 should have been at least 1/4" longer to make the install easier. Also the plate that you are suppose to screw the bolts in to secure the crossbars should be machine better to accept the bolt thread. So the rack cost about $1400+ for aggravation and a lot of unnecessary parts that were not needed for the install for different rail configurations. So now all the metal clamps, bolts and rail plates go into the garbage. So Yakima sells you an overpriced rack when the could tailor your needs and save us money and the planet also. Thumbs down Yakima

Low profile bed rack
This product was purchased along with the HD mounts to free up my bed for future kayak trips. I always thought of how to load kayaks, but then failed to think of all the rest of the things you need to entertain and feed a family of four. I have yet to load the kayaks on the rack but hope to get one kayak in a j cradle and the other laid top down flat on a pad I will place on each bar. 68 in bar worked perfect with my Colorado. You can see how my toolbox is a little taller than the. Ars but hopefully won't affect the loading of kayaks. I will use a hitch mounted extend a bed bar to ensure longer kayak is secure since the two bars are closer together. This was an easy install and I was able to fit the mounts in between my OEM bed lighting and the bed liner protrusion that exist under the bed. The mounts do move back and forward if you apply enough bodyweight into them when testing connection. Instructions state they shouldn't move in any direction using only arm strength (not body weight). Passed that test at least and will see in future use if they move while traveling with two kayaks (about 150lbs).

Tough Bars
I have two sets of these on my truck. One set (or sometimes only one bar) on the roof and the second on a Yakima Overhaul HD bed rack. The roof system has a lower weight capacity than the bed system but not because of these bars. These bars can handle the label HD. I use my truck for work and frequently have hauled various amounts of lumber, ladders, and anything else that'll bridge the gap between the bars and have never had any worry that the bars cannot handle it. I've used the round bars in the past and have made the flex a bit. I have a set of the Streamline bars for the wife's car and I've made them flex a little. But not these. If you need ultimate load capacity then these bars should be part of your design.
