Who wouldve thought trench warfare and periscopes would make a comeback?Solid construction not sure if its better built than old school military periscopes but for the price point and usability this is a no-brainer purchase.Built a little pic rail bracket to make a similar build to what S2 Underground has so I can attach a3x magnifier and a PVS-14Got a double clamp for bikes and it worked perfectly!Will take more pictures of how it looks through the periscope once I figure out a way to attach my phone or gopro but for now just take my word on glass clarity being better than I expected and no issue with focusing. I was able to perfectly focus on my TV which is 6 ft away and had no problems focusing out to about 500 yds at leastConsidering buying another one so I can have a periscope binocular type set up

It does two things. It gives quite a good, magnified image, and it looks around or over nearby objects. It is sturdily built, and the top panel of the one I received is held solidly by four screws; I don't anticipate needing to glue anything. When the scope is extended, I do see an edge of image from whatever the tube is pointing at, such as the ceiling while looking out of a window. That part sneaks in around the angled head, but it does not seriously interfere with the clarity of what is being viewed.The periscope isn't useful for viewing at short distances, such as in tight spaces, small rooms, or perhaps most home hallways, because anything closer than about 20' remains out of focus. Especially if there is any danger, you don't want to see something up close that is a confusing mass of magnified and blurry. The scope is good, though, for use outdoors or in larger constructions, where there is adequate distance. I find this product to be quite a decent 5x monocular that can look around corners or view above a crowd.The case is designed to hold the scope and the handle separately. At first, I didn't like the need to attach the handle before every use, but then I rethought that concern. The shortened case is better for transport and storage, but when you want to use the case as a holster in active situations, the attached handle protrudes for easy access. The case has a strap and also a belt loop (at the end that opens), offering a choice of carry options.

I bought this to determine which of my neighbors was causing loud noises and to possibly figure out when the noises would stop. I occasionally hear loud children screaming or somebody making noises with tools or whatever and I wouldn't know what was going on. I can now use this tool to see what is going on without opening my curtains or sticking my head out my door. I can usually stick the lens through the gap in the curtains or the foyer window to get a good view on the street. The 7" extender is delicate so you have to gingerly move it. The case is decent even though people are complaining about it.

Great product! I've been buying optics for many years and am very finicky and hard to please when it comes to the quality of glass. As a result, when I read the reviews of this product that mentioned issues focusing, I was concerned. However, I needed this niche product very quickly for my job, so I ordered two periscopes. Upon arrival, I was very much impressed by the quality of such a cheap product (cheap in the world of optics, that is). Clear glass, no issues focusing, I was happy. Since then, I've found that the scope is very handy for observation, especially from a point of concealment.There are only two things that make this a four star review. For one, the carrying case is nearly complete garbage. The quality is not great, and the handle must be removed from the scope for storage. Being a very delicate device in need of protection, you will need to get your own case for this periscope if you intend to use it in a less-than-hospitable environment. Also, the paint coating is not conducive to camouflaging. Black is ok for certain applications, but if you will be operating this device in an arid or outdoor environment, it will be a bit difficult to camouflage. Ordinarily rattle can spray paint does not tend to stick very well, though I have had success with lots of sandpaper and paint used for painting weapons.Other than those two minor caveats, it's a great product. As of June 2018, the quality control issues seem to be ironed out. At least the two scopes I ordered functioned as promised. I purchased two of these scopes, mainly for use as a golf tournament spectator. The scopes were very nice, well built, and seem to work well. But, they come in a very nice little case that the zippers all break? I have received two replacement cases because of broken zippers (broke the first time I used them), and one of the replacements also broke immediately. Other than the case zippers, I like the scopes.

When I'm stuck in traffic, and not moving, I bust out this periscope through the sunroof to see what's what up ahead. Works really well. Bought as a gimmick because I was a submarine sailor but it is very practical. Case hasn't broke or poor quality. Built tough and hard to break.

Very happy with this. Well constructed.Most "real" periscopes are also telescopes of some sort. If you just put a mirror at the bottom and one at the top .. when you look through it your view will see the length of the inside of the tube / body with a small "window" at the center.Making it a telescope gives a much better view. Five power is not excessive. The field of view is not great .. but suitable for this price range.
