This listing is for 3 pads. Turtles, tortoise, iguana, and other pets LOVE this superfood. It is high in calcium and fiber. It can be kept several weeks in the refrigerator once sliced. The pads can also be placed in dirt to keep fresh until ready to slice. You get a houseplant and pet food! Prickly Pear (Opuntia cochenillifera) is a beautiful and hardy cactus. Outdoor hardy from zones 4 -10. It will produce an edible reddish pink fruit, even the pads are edible if they are peeled. The pads (tuna) and fruit (nopal) are edible and there are many different preparation options. These pads can be eaten or rooted and planted. These do not have spines but rather the new growth has fine hairs. Prickly Pear Cactus is normally quite a low maintenance plant and is normally very easy to grow - great for beginner gardeners!

Better than expected; reviews almost made me pass up on these!
I did think that these pads were going to be in BAD shape when I realized that THATS what was in this bag. I was very worried about the method used to ship, but when I saw them I was pleasantly surprised !! Much larger than expected & are fresh (for the most part) and will be rooted and multiplied- then food for my uromastyx lizard! ((Wine bottle for scale)) one is rotted a little, but I think I can cut that part off- let it seal- and propagate it (plant it) HOPEFULLY!

A+ purchase
Received cactus pads prior to original eta. The cactus was wrapped individually, and an instruction sheet was with the order. Will buy again from this seller

Better than expected
I was kind if hesitant to order because of all the negative reviews on most fresh cactus pads but the price wasn't bad so I gave it a shot.Shipping was fairly fast, they all arrived in great condition, no "mushiness" or rot. One even had little roots already starting so I planted that one and fed the rest to my sulcata who LOVED them! The one I planted is doing great so far and seems healthy.Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the size, only came with 3 pads that were all about 2"x3".

Very dry
They came in wrapped in a news paper. Very dry and unhealthy looking. I am disappointed. I will never order from them ever.

Healthy, No spines, many beautiful new pads!
Today is 5/22. I received and planted my pads on 4/6. I planted each on a separate nursery pot, scab end down, 1/3 pad deep in Miracle Grow cactus blend soil. I watered them but only when the soil two inches deep was “desert dry”.Today, pad #1 has 5 new pads starting, pad #2 has 1 and pad #3 has SIX (!) working on a 7th. Trust this vendor to give you what you paid for. I do, or I wouldn’t have taken the time.
