An improvement on my father's classic 10 karat gold Cross pen
I can understand 4 stars, but the one I got is an easy 5 stars and I have gotten 4 star and even 3 star pens from Cross. Pen is a work horse of a Ball point pen. The only pen I would rank higher than Cross is a Waterman ball point pen aka Waterman Expert II Black Lacquer Gold Trim Retractable Ballpoint. Waterman writes smooth right out of the box. Cross Sterling Silver pen was an instant classic to me right out of the box with stunning color not as dull as the picture on website and good writing pen. Exactly what I was looking for based on past experience with Cross pens. My dad had classic 10 Karat gold pen as long as I could remember and I now own both silver and gold (a combination even Yukon Cornelius would love aka Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer). My 1st fountain pen was a plastic cross fountain pen I bought in office supply store in Morganton, NC. That pen rival's my Delta Dolcevita fountain pen (Italian Pen sold on Colorado Pen Direct) at $476.00 (Retail Price is $595.00).Cross is synonymous with good quality at a reasonable price.Fountain Pen is sold on website: [...].

Writes smoothly and feels good when writing
I like the smoothness of the roller ball and the color of the blue ink. It is a well balanced pen. My only gripe is that the cap falls off when writing. If left off, the pen is too short to be held comfortably. I wish the cap fit more snugly when placed on the pen during use.

These were great pens that wrote and felt amazing
I go to my local Staples and get refill ink cartridges for them regularly

Cross Quality
I have a couple of Cross pens. This pen has lived up to the quality expected from Cross. This pen has a thinner barrel. If you like writing with a fatter barrel pen then look at a different model.

Feels Cheap, Skips
So disappointed in this pen. I bought three assorted "nice" pens and this was the most expensive out of all three. Of them, this had the poorest writing quality (skipping, bleeding) and felt the cheapest. Absolutely not worth the price.Update 3/10:I reached out to Cross product support and they said they could not help me since I had purchased the pen through Amazon. The associate was very kind and helpful, but I'm so disappointed with the company.Photos are after less than a minute of use.
