Many more good books, but in my 50 years or reading ...
There are ONLY 3 BOOKS you REALY HAVE TO READ in your life time on this planet. The Bible, at your young age, the "PURGATORY" by Fr. Schoupe as you enter your teenage years and older, and St . Faustina Diary in leather bound. Many more good books, but in my 50 years or reading all religious books, novel, or scientific books ( I read more then 2000) This is the Essence of our past, our present and our future. You need the bible to give you a foundation, a character to become a decent person and saved from all evils and pervertions today, then when you grew up and forget your bible or bored hearing or listened to it, switch to the purgatory to find out WHAT happened when you decided to forget the bible, where would you go in life and after this life??? This is not a joke , it is a real story of us.IF you then still ignored it and 30 years later decided you had enough of all the empty things around, and you read the Purgatory and got scared, then read the Diary of St Faustina, there you will find the essence of God, of the bible, of your life and future and of a way out from ALL your troubles, fear, pain , suffering, sadness, loneliness, you will understand the secret of HEAVEN, whats look like in there and beyond......As Jesus said, this is the LAST way out of your trouble and death, LAST chance to find peace, love and meaning of any ones life, be it poor or rich, beautiful or ugly, short or tall, good or evil...I read this book 6 times and still not done, it reveals to me more and more the essence purpose and secret of my life.....Read it once , you may be hooked, read it twice and then you see the beauty and secrets of God and Jesus's love in all things...Read it 3 times and you are set to be freed from your fear......and stress and fear.I was laid off 4 times, but after reading this book, I was changed and I have no more fear nor sadness....NOTHING should worry you anymore IF you read this book.....please read it, whats $26 compared to a torture in hell for eternity????You do NOT believe in HELL???? A man in Italy told pAdre Pio that, and he replied:" You WILL when you get there"!!!! you bought insurance for everything junky in this world and you wont buy insurance for your after life???

The sacred thoughts of a beatiful soul longing for union with our Savior in Heaven.
This is a real person's diary . . . and the intimate interior life of the soul of a young idealistic woman and her mystical experiences. It can beread or speed read through with the purpose of extracting the subtle tone of the writer's interior feelings and thoughts. It is a translation and hasbeen edited . To read this quickly without the intention of returning and reading it slowly through is a mistake (in my opinion) . I read it long agoin 2005 and was very impressed by it, although, it would have been useless to me if I had not, first, seen the dramatized life of the saint and understood both her childhood circumstances which give background to her sweet Diary writings, which she wrote in her own handwriting , in her own way, in some notebooks, for the purpose of her own spiritual growth. After her death, these writings were collected, put in order and nicely bound for the edification of us all. Her schooling was perhaps not up to the standard of expression for public consumption but the diary were her own writings in a notebook expressing her feelings as a Sister in a convent in Poland. It is a great source of inspiration to read and I warmly recommend it .

Beautifully Bound Book
What a beautifully bound leather like book. Page are like that of the Bible.I’m not going to go into the contents as those who want this book already have an idea of who this young woman is and how the Divine Mercy Devotion came about. I will however tell those who are I hesitant to buy this, given the description is that of a leather bound book, but the only option at checkout was that of a paperback book. After shopping around, I find this book is extremely hard to come so I came back to Amazon and chose the only option available, paperback. How happy I was when I opened the pkg which came today and saw the book was the burgundy leather, as in the original description.Hope this is helpful.

A really beautiful little book ...
The writings of St. Faustina, and the global movement they have engendered speak for themselves, so my review goes solely to the quality of this book. Clearly, an enormous amount of scholarly research and work has gone into this English translation of the original Polish-language writings. I am so grateful for the diligence of all those who worked on it, and so pleased to have such a carefully translated English version of St. Faustina's writings. The book begins with a summary of St. Faustina's life, and ends with a wonderful section of black/white and color photos of the saint, her family/contemporaries, and the places where she grew up/lived in Poland.Amazon's image of the book doesn't nearly do it justice. The maroon, leather cover is excellent quality; the printing on it beautifully done in gold, and the edges of the lightweight pages (like a Missal) also beautifully gilt in gold. The binding seems very sturdy/durable, and includes a bookmark ribbon. It's a relatively small book (only about 4.5 x 7.25 inches) and fits very comfortably in the hand, so very easy to carry, etc. I'm SO glad I opted for the more expensive, leather bound version. I consider it a great value, and know it will serve me well for many years.
