Worked great for replacement part on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser
Was experiencing some squeaking/chirping coming from front part of engine on 2009 Toyota Land Cruiser. Typically that is the sign of serpentine belt, idler pulley and/or tensioner bearings going out, so I ordered this part, along with the belt and idler to replace my (possibly original) parts. I dropped of parts and car with my mechanic one morning and picked it up later that afternoon. Immediately noticed the noise was gone. Since I didn't do the work myself, I cannot say which part was causing the noise, but I can say that this tensioner, along with the other parts, have been running smooth and quiet since they were put on around 6-8 weeks ago. This SUV has the 5.7L V8, so my guess is that this fits a number of Toyotas and Lexus's with that engine, and whatever else the company says it will fit. I always appreciate it when the person leaving the review mentions what specific make/model car the parts were used on, so I wanted to include mine. Helps when you know for sure, as sometimes despite the product description, it is possible the fit is incorrect. Good part so far! Will update if anything changes, but I don't expect it to.

Buy this one! Don’t Try to Save a Buck!
I was in a tight spot on 10/5/21 when my Tundra’s alternator died and figured I’d save a few bucks ordering and installing a lower priced Belt Tensioner Pulley along with new Dayco Idler Pulley (p/n: 89502), Bando Belt (8PK2410 OEM Quality Serpentine), and locally rebuilt alternator. I noticed a squeaking sound 6/22/22 and did the water test and verified it wasn’t the belt. I knew the tensioner was bad because when engine was at idle the squeak progressively turned into it COUGAR SHRIEKING OVER ITS KILL and went away when revving the engine because that creates belt tension, eliminating the need for the belt tensioner. I ordered the Dayco 89378 Belt Tensioner and received it 2/4/23. I installed it this morning. Took about 30 minutes. Tested it: No noise whatsoever. Dayco is the Toyota OEM supplier that’s factory spec and labeled just like my original that lasted 109k miles. It has a pin installed to make installation and belt routing easier just like OEM.Tools I used:Belt removal tool14mm socket3/8 ratchet3” extension12mm socket6mm Allen key head socketLearn from my mistake. Save a Buck on wipers or windshield fluid. Spend the money on OEM parts and good tires. I have no doubts this will last nearly as long.

works as it should
Works as should. Just a pain to install on my 2011 Tundra but any brand would be a pain.
