It's good!
Got this for my husband, who is disabled, and spends a great deal of time in his chair - unless we're headed to dialysis or a doctor visit he's reading on his computer and so on. The padding in the chair has been basically gone for years and he used to sit on an old pillow, but that wasn't working anymore; so we got this cushion. After almost a year we're considering getting two more - one as a spare and for traveling, and the other to replace the aging cushion in his wheelchair, which is slowly coming apart at the seams. The material is incredibly resistant to dust, cat hair, and so on, and though we haven't needed to wash it I am certain it wouldn't be any trouble to do so. It just works, it makes him comfortable, and we barely ever notice it: which I feel is kind of how a seat cushion SHOULD be.

a good cushion
I just got this cushion, so I'll do an update @ some point, but it seems to be exactly what I need; a simple foam cushion.I'm in nursing school and sit for endless hours studying and writing and my hips and back were starting to hurt - even after sitting on it for a few hours my hips and lower back feel better.I have a big chair and this cushion was one of the bigger ones - I'm not that big, so I can sit Indian style comfortably. If you're looking for a good, simple, low-tech, relatively inexpensive, possibly memory foam cushion then this is a good choice. Two days later - I have been sitting endlessly, studying for 2 big exams - usually I would have to rotate chairs but I have not had to, my back feels pretty good, being that i'm sitting for un-natural amounts of time - so I feel this chair cushion has been successful. I'll let you know if it starts failing.November 5, 2011 - still sitting & studying and the cushion is holding up really well -November 14, 2011 - STILL SITTING & studying and the cushion might be a little softer, or slightly less lofty, but it's saving my back!

Too soft and compresses too much
This just came in today. I haven't had a chance to use it very much yet, but it looks pretty good. Recently, I bought a work chair through Amazon. The chair is pretty good, but I thought it really needed more cushioning, so I bought this cushion to put on top of the work chair. This cushion is pretty soft, and it may be bordering on being a little too soft. It compresses quite a bit. There is more cushioning under it in the chair, the way I'm using it, though.

Great seat cushion - soft on the tush
My office chair is really nice, but the padding was getting a little weak in the seat area. I had been using a different product that I had reviewed earlier but it just was not making the grade. I read the reviews of this cushion and decided I would give it a try.- There are 2 different layers of foamthe soft squishy side is regular foam (not memory foam) this is also the bottom of the cushionthe memory foam side is much more dense This is the top of the cushion- A minor (very minor) drawback is the cushion can move a little when you sit. I just make sure it I centered under me when I sit down and adjust if necessary.- So far I have been using for just a few daysI weigh 215lbs and am 6'1" tall, I fit easily atop this cushionUsage - I work in this chair 8+ hrs a day. This cushion will get a bunch of use. if it begins to fail I will update this review

Soft, comfortable, supportive, okay density-wise
After sitting at my desk for twelve hours a day studying for boards, my arse began to hurt. This cushion seems to be just the ticket to prevent me from getting hemorrhoids. The pad is three inches thick. I'm 180 pounds and the firmness / softness is pretty good for me, I'm sure it would work for someone lighter as well, but maybe not for someone much heavier because it is not very high-density foam.A previous reviewer said that it was more supportive than a regular cushion; that's true. The memory foam seems to distribute my body weight more around the hips and legs and work a lot better than the throw cushion I was using. And because it molds to my body-shape, it "holds me in place" in the seat, hence providing some degree of back support. However, this statement in the description: "Its ergonomically designed to help maintain proper posture" is complete BS. It's a rectangular piece of memory foam. There's nothing "ergonomic" about it. There's nothing this rectangular piece of foam, or any other for that matter, could do to correct posture. If you want to relieve office-chair-induced lower back pain, sit better! Hold your shoulders back, spine straight, both feet flat on the ground in front of you, with the seat height adjusted so that your knees are at 90 degrees, in a chair that offers lumbar support. But this cushion will distribute your weight more evenly around your perineum and upper part of your lower extremities, and hold your butt still in the chair, which might offer some back relief.Previous reviewers have stated it seems to lose it's "memory" after about a year of use. I haven't used it very long so I can't comment with regards to longevity. And frankly I don't care, as long as it gets me through the next few weeks I'll consider it money well spent. I will say that it is relatively low-density memory foam, because after I press the foam (taken out of the cover) I cannot see my hand print. Hence, it's less memory more foam.I give it four stars due to making impossible claims that serve to enforce the "no responsibility for my own actions" mentality that plagues this country, and because I would like the foam to be somewhat higher density. Also the price is a little high for what it is (I can get a higher-density memory foam pad for my whole bed for ~$60). Otherwise it meets my expectations and saves my bacon.
