A real bargain and a useful assortment!
This is a great little assortment and just the job for experimenters and hobbyists. Here’s what they are suitable for:• 1N7001, 1N4004, 1N4007 Power rectifiers to convert A.C. to D.C. in 1A continuous current rating power supplies, reverse polarity protection, and battery chargers - any application where switching speed is not critical (up to 15KHz). If in doubt, use 1N4007 which has the highest PIV (Peak Inverse Voltage) rating of 1,000V.• 1N5406, 1N5408 As above but with a 3A rating at room temperature. If in doubt, use 1N5408 which has the highest PIV rating of 1,000V.• RL207 Sits in between the above two rectifiers with a 2A current rating and can withstand 1,000 PIV. This one is a bit of an oddity as it does not conform to the US or European identification standards (and may be discontinued). But it can be used in just the same way as above.• 1N4148 The workhorse of low-current electronic circuits that has been in continuous use since 1966. Has a high switching speed (~5nS) and low forward voltage (less than 0.9V) but beware the voltage rating – the 100V number is its breakdown voltage, so instead use if in circuits where the applied voltage is 70V or less. Given that it will find application in much lower voltages such as home projects or simple logic circuits, it should not be an issue.• FR107, FR207 Fast recovery diodes with application in high-frequency power switching circuits – much faster than the 1N400X family. Use also for voltage doublers and “snubbers” to protect from voltage spikes.• UF4007 “Ultra-Fast” recovery diode that can be used in switching applications like the FRXXX but well into the MHz switching speed range.• 1N5817, 1N5819, 1N5822 Schottky diodes with a much lower forward voltage drop of about 0.4V compared with the others above. Useful in low-power circuits where every volt counts and requiring fast switching speeds, but with a much higher reverse leakage current at about 0.5mA.Top Tips:• Use a heat sink to protect the diode when soldering – Amazon sells a range of ones that look like a little pair of springy pliers.• Don’t bend the lead too close to the case – keep at least 1/8” away. Use in circuits that employ no more than 70% of the rated voltage.• Buy an inexpensive digital multimeter that will test diodes – the THISNDE range on Amazon are an absolute bargain and similar to Fluke units costing ten times as much, and will also test capacitors and measure resistors.• Have fun!

Good Value and Properly Labled Diode Packs
What can be said for a pack of simple diodes?1. The assortment is cost effective.2. The packaging of each quantity and value is clear and effective. (resealable and labeled mini-pouches)3. Broad assortment of PRV and Current Ratings, not to mention Diode types.4. The box has a very nice chart printed detailing Quantity, and Specs for each of the 14 values.Take a picture with your camera of the chart and you have a resizable chart of every thing that is in the box.My particular use is a to snub a relay coil kick back voltage to prevent damage to the power supply that supplies the coil voltage. Simply connect a diode of across the coil voltage (taking care to connect the diode cathode to the positive terminal of the coil supply voltage), and you have limited the the kick back voltage to 0.6 v and thus avoiding any damage to the supply.

Good Place to Start
I am working to rebuild an old pinball machine and know almost nothing about sourcing parts or replacing parts. The package for so many fundamental parts just could not be beat. I will never use them all, but the quantity of each item gave me more than enough product to begin my work. Buying 6 pieces or 10 pieces of each of the necessary items could be done. The cost for being so much more selective would have been a bit in the pocket book.Great package and plenty to work and play with.

excellent selection, spot checked one of each and all worked
You get a wide variety of commonly used diodes. I randomly picked one from each type and tested them and they all worked. Assuming all of them work it's quite a deal to keep in a repair shop, or for the home hobbyists. Wish it came in a different storage container because they're in little plastic baggies and the container is stuffed with them. They all do have markings on the bags. I'm probably going to find a different long-term storage solution but for the parts alone it's a good value

diode set
I have used a few of these already, and they worked perfectly. Plus, now I have a lifetime supply at an excellent price.

My go to for basic diodes
This package is my go to for jellybean diodes. Inexpensive, but not cheap quality. I've only get maybe 1 or 2 physically damaged diodes with each box, but more importantly they are exactly what is printed on them. With all the fake Chinese EE parts floating around, this is what I'm most concerned about. The wrong kind of diode on a project or fixing can have catastrophic effects, especially when your dealing with 4 diodes on a PCB for a full bridge rectifier.
