prop
I purchased this to use as a prop in a play. It was to be thrown into the audience after being in a pile of firewood, so it needed to be big enough to be seen. When I first opened the package, the snake was coiled and looked very small. I thought there was no way it was big enough. But when I took it out and started to play with it, it is definitely long enough. Our first rehearsal using the snake resulted in several cast members being surprised, thinking it was a real snake. When held with part dangling, it moves in a very snake-like manner. We are thrilled with the result.

Small
Much smaller than expected. But it was cheap so you get what you pay for.Wanted it for the garden to scare critters.

Realistic looking but not effective for garden pest management
This looks like a small garter snake and not some venomous predator. I placed it in the garden to scare off the chipmunks. It worked for like a week and then the chipmunks dragged it away from their entrance in one location and simply created a bunch of new holes a distance from the other snake at the second location. I moved the snakes around to make it more convincing but at the end of the day the chipmunks won. I did end up scaring my neighbor by accident as she practically jumped out of her skin when she saw it in the garden. The 3 star is for its use as a chipmunk deterrent, but as a toy it's a 5.

Great for Gardens
I bought these to put in my garden (to scare critters away). Almost everyone that has seen the snakes by my plants have thought they were real. Lol. I'm not sure if it's the snakes, but I haven't had a single squirrel dig in my garden this year. The snakes are really pliable, and easy to stage in different positions.

These go great in the grass!
If you’re looking for a cheap and effective way to put a snake in your garden or grass…..meet your new friend. Put him to work in your yard to keep unwanted pests and other Wiley varmints at bay. Great partner to have in your varmint control arsenal!

Did nothing to prevent birds from perching or building nests on our porch columns.
We tried bird spikes and then added the snakes right onto them. The birds simply ignored them and started to build their nest RIGHT ON TOP OF THEM.Plastic owls have been effective.

Great toy, not so much pest deterent
Ordered to deter squirrels. They weren't fooled. The snakes are realistic looking and are great toys for kids.
