Great little power inverter for 12V batteries either diy or real 12V batteries with car chargers
I have tested this device on various 12V battery packs that I have laying around in my office. I specifically purchased it for a small application to make some of my electronics projects more portable to move quickly to other places in the workshop. This device has helped charge varioius macbook pros, run small 12V .03A fans for hours on a 12.6V custom 18650 battery pack with 1A output and the inverter powers the whole things flawlessly. I even tested the over protection circuit with a small saw and it cut the power and protected the device before blowing up the battery pack.Yes the fan is always going to run, you should know that. It's a inverter meaning that it's taking a smaller powered battery and stepping up the power which guess what generates heat folks! The more power your draw, the louder the fan. Why?! Because it would otherwise be a fire hazard and overheat. A possible solution would be add a heat sink but that would make the device bigger and still require a fan. Stop leaving bad reviews for fan noise, that that is a side effect of using an inverter. This device does exactly what it says and works very well. I have tested all outputs at once and it still works and doesn't trip the over power protection. Of course though, I plug in devices that match the specs. Don't always believe what you see on the back of each device, use it as a guideline. You need to take a percentage of that value and accommodate for variance in device draw under load. If you over power the device, that is on you, not the device.

Good purchase
Works very well!

Small inverter for your vehicle.
I haven’t used the inverter for powering any AC devices, but it powers up my phone just fine. My only issue is that my 12V receptacle is inside my front console, and the unit takes up more space than I had hoped. It also does make noise while plugged in. Otherwise I’d give it 5 stars.

Great product, it's really not that loud.
Okay so I bought this at the end of November and it's now February and so far I love it. I only use it to plug in Christmas lights for my car and charge my phone though. The USB ports are slow. They will charge your phone just not very efficiently. I read all the reviews before buying and was a little skeptical but bought it anyways. For all you who say the fan noise is loud you're a bunch of overexaggerating drama queens. It's at the same decible level of your a/c even on the lowest setting. If you play music in your car you can't hear it. At all. As for durability, I travel a lot and have a lot of friends in my car and most people who sit in the passenger seat almost always knock the thing out of place, and it's still not broken. So I give it a full 5 stars. Great product.

Great purchase
Great purchase. Works great. We used it for an inflatable 4th July rocket for front of truck and it worked a great. My husband didn’t know they made those so he was very happy

Using for power outages for DC socket in a battery vehicle jump-starter that requires an Inverter not over 150 Watts.
Bought this to use with a DC battery vehicle jump-starter. I intended to store the jump-starter in our small truck, but there wasn't enough room for it, so I store it inside the house now in a breathable nylon carry case for emergencies since our battery has a built-in flash-light & a DC socket. Now, with this handy Inverter, I can plug it into the DC socket of the jump-starter battery & then plug low-powered AC items into it if the power goes out; such as cell-phones or portable DVD player or my child's portable cassette-player/radio or a tablet. I made sure to get the 150 Watt Inverter because our battery requires nothing over that amount, so be sure to check your specs. If you need an Inverter for your vehicle, you could probably go higher in Watts. This was perfect for our needs! While shopping for this Inverter, I discovered some nifty newer vehicle jump-starters that are compact enough to fit in your hand--what a blessing for people with small vehicles--can't wait to get one of those too!

Didn’t last.
Only used about 6 times to charge laptop before it quit working.

The corded version is better
I bought this 150 watt inverter and its corded brother also 150 watt, mainly for use in car, by passengers needing device charging/entertainment/etc.But it is also useful for emergency charging of cell phone via USB and for emergency light with a florescent (CFL) light off the 110 volt output, when plugged in to my portable jump starter which has a 12VDC port. In case of short term power outage at home, I can get at least one room-filling (60W equivalent) light on quickly when power goes out, and buy time to figure out the next steps in case the outage might last days;(Electrically, both tested out fine, in car and with the jumpstarter as an emergency source. The phones charged and the plugged-in light worked (just a normal table lamp with a 60 watt EQUIVALENT CFL, which is basically 8-10 watts draw), in the car and with the jumpstarter DC socket. Unlike another review, the CFL light (like you get from any big box store now that incandescents are being phased out) worked just the same off both inverters as when on the normal wall power, as far as I could tell.I did not try either inverter with any noise-sensitve equipment like sound equipment, or any wall-wart transformers 110 to whatever. I might wonder about that except most things that need a wall-wart could use 12vdc or 5vdc off the USB anyway. But, I like to point out, that this "all in one" version with the 12vdc plug and body together, does not stay in a 12vdc vehicle socket very well. The inverter end-part is heavier, and tends to work the whole thing out of the socket over time/bumps.The cigarette lighter plug-part, needs better springs on the side to stop this. The corded version, although the springs are the same, stays in better because the whole weight of the inverter part is not held by the springs.Probably I will keep both, but get another/better 12vdc plug-part from somewhere and hardwire it like a small extension cord onto the one piece inverter. Hopefully I will not destroy it in the process. But the 2 piece (plug-wire and inverter head) is a better bet, and probably is easier to fit most vehicle sockets esp. if they are recessed in a console or something. Trade off is the extra wire can be sloppy I guess in the car.jim
