Big Textbook, Lots of Words, Purposely Convoluted Definitions. You'll Love It!
How does one describe a marketing textbook that weighs what feels like 50 lbs. AND presents every marketing term ever developed in the modern human era? There are no words. From the different variations of consumer demand, to customer lifetime value calculations, to in-depth discussions about... every single marketing concept ever developed in the history of known humanity, this book will dazzle you. If you're the type of person who stays up at night wondering how to effectively target sources of market growth, this is your jam. Do you like to open conversations with "You know, I've been thinking about our relationship... oh, and brand development indices", get this book! If you're in graduate school, you'll appreciate the extra info and concept-inclusivity of this text. If you're taking marketing because you have to and don't really care... sorry, dude. This is the most textbooky textbook I have ever had. P.s. It came in decent condition and it's a rental. The rental price for the semester was good, although you can't access any of the online benefits. Before renting this textbook, make sure your professor doesn't require you to access the text's online material! Good luck, everyone! You can doooo it!

Needed for business management course
This book was listed as necessary for business admin class. It perfectly matched curriculum and gave extra assistance for concepts more difficult to understand.

Very good book
Very good book for beginners in marketing. The content is not the most recent but helps you develop conceptually. I learned a lot from this book.The soft cover book available for 19 bucks is different from the hardcover book in terms of case studies.

Decent marketing text with thoughtful examples, but use limitations may hinder most students
While marketing is not my strong suit, I enjoyed reading this textbook for one of my graduate courses. It offers a reasonable explanation of concepts for non-marketing types. However, be warned: the Kindle eBook version only allows use on 2 simultaneous devices. Apparently, this is set by the publisher (Prentice Hall). If you are like most modern students with a laptop, tablet, phone, etc., it may be difficult to get the content where you need it when you need it.

The go to marketing 101 textbook
THE classic - I used this for a class I taught at NYU on marketing. Thorough and practical at the same time with great examples and profiles of great marketing. I used an earlier simpler version when I was a student in business school and highly recommend this one.

Unauthorized sale in US and very disappointed customer
Selling a product that should not be sold in United States - There is a note on the book front page stating - "Circulation of this edition outside the Indian subcontinent is unauthorized". I am three weeks into my graduation course and found that the book is not exactly the same as the book followed by my college. I remember searching the book with the proper ISBN number and this was on the top of the list on this site. I searched again and I found the same results. Even though I am a recent fan of Amazon, I was really impressed by the investment that Amazon puts into its technology. I thought that Amazon search engine would catch these kind of un-regulated sales on the site. But , to my surprise, I found this on the list and ended up buying the book only to find that it is not some thing that should be sold in US and more over does not comply with the chapters line up with the original book. I wonder the amount of dollars spent by this giant to capture online market, but allowing these kind of sellers who are not compatible with the mission statement of Amazon would impact the brand image? I strongly suggest that there should be improvement to the search engine that spits the results but eliminate the suppliers that sell incorrect products or violates the regulation. This purchase almost costed me a failure in my course. I had to purchase an online version with another site by paying a premium price as the correct book is not available to ship in time even with a prime membership. I am really disappointed by this purchase.I recommend that they look at the ISBN details very closely and verify the sellers before making their purchase. Which in general should be a convenience provided by the seller, but better be safe than sorry!!!!

Great purchase!
I was a tad skeptical about purchasing a paperback textbook but it was the right choice. Not only was the book printed in color, it was just like a hard cover at a fraction of the price. The book also arrived on time and in impeccable condition.
