Q: There is no expiration date? Why?

Our Haiku teas do not have an expiration date, but do have a best by date. This is 2 years after the date of manufacture. The manufacture date is the first 5 numbers in a code printed in black ink on the side of the box. The first 2 numbers are the year, and the subsequent 3 numbers are the Julian date, which refers to the number of days in the year rather than day of the month. For example, a code with 22001 was manufactured on January 1st, 2022 while a code with 22365 was manufactured on December 31st, 2022. Once you determine the manufacture date, you can add two years to it to get the best by date. As long as your tea is within 2 years of its manufacture date, you can be assured you are getting the best representation of the product.
