Best Bang For The Buck
It is now 14 years after I bought my Lawnboy mower with electric start. I need to replace the original battery. These mowers came with a Hawker Energy Products battery, (now Enersys (Hawker) Cyclone). These batteries are in a word unbelievable. It's not often I find a product that not only does what it states but exceeds that by 40%. I am speaking of the length of service you can expect from this battery. . The manufacture of these batteries says they have a 10 year life expectancy. Mine has lasted for 14 years and that is 14 years of neglect and misuse. Instead of doing the required fall & spring charging, I simply put the mower away and next spring charge the battery overnight (not the recommended 48 or 72 hour charge). In fact several different years if the mower started without out charging or with 1 or two pulls on the recoil starter rope I would never charge it at all. Then the only charging it got was from the mower's charging system. Now accountants will say 'you should buy a cheaper 4-5 year battery and plan on replacing it every 4- 5 years. Well, I consider the time and trouble of finding and replacing a battery to be worth the extra cost. (A sealed lead acid battery runs about $18.00-24.00 if you look around here on amazon). As you can see since you found this listing the Cyclon runs $35. Look carefully,I have found them elsewhere on the web selling for $174.00. But I digress.Bottom line is they are easy to replace even if you aren't terribly good with tools (it takes unscrewing 2 easy to get to small hex head screws) and unplugging one plug that is in the open and easy to see. Pop out the old battery and slip in the new. Replace the screws, plug in the plug and you are back to mowing. You may have to give it a 72 hour charge with your charger that came with the mower to bring it up to full power. At any rate you won't have to do much for the next 14 years. Heck, at my age I may never need to buy another battery for the mower!

Doesn't hold charge
Charge lasted about 5 uses of weed trimmer. Battery died already. Sad.

I had difficulty finding this particular battery and this was the best price that I could find. It came faster than promised and seems to do the job.
