This product was easy to apply and did a surprisingly nice job helping to break up the soil. I'd recommend it.

Great for Fig Trees
We fertilize our fig trees once a year with Gypsium and twice a year with Osmocote. Our trees have doubled in growth with tons of delicious Violette de Bordeaux figs, these figs have a distinctively rich flavor, small- to medium-sized, purple-black fruit with a very deep red strawberry-colored flesh and distinctive sweet, rich flavor. Yum.

Not a powder for those looking for a powder.
The pellets are easy enough to use. If you're using them before you plant, then the pellets work fine to mix in. For anyone looking to get it down in the soil thats already established. Just get you a pot of water. Heat it up and mix in the amount you want in said area. And voila. You now have a gypsum based water for your plants! Id avoid pouring on the plants themselves, but I've yet to try that from fear it may not be healthy to have the plant coated itself.

The product that keeps on giving
I didn't need a 5lb box of gypsum but Down to Earth gives you a great product at an amazing price, i figured why not? I've noticed my shed has more and more Down to Earth products.... I even use the boxes in my compost and to choke the weeds. The product that keeps on giving. Rare to find that in a society so focused on greed.

Good stuff.
If you don't already know, gypsum is a must have amendment for growing in coco coir. The calcium and sulfur help displace and balance out the excessive sodium and potassium found in coco, and are in forms that are highly available to plants. It also doesn't affect the pH like other liming solutions do, and generally you don't want to raise the pH in coco any higher than it already is. This gypsum is pelletized to slow down and moderate how quick the the calcium and sulfur become available, which in these forms are very mobile and bioavailable to plants. As a result it can even be used as a top dressing and watered in.Disclaimer: I have used many Down to Earth products. Some things you can find much better deals on locally (Ie: buying big bags from local suppliers), but I have always found Down to Earth products to be high quality and have never been disappointed.
