This is a neat little night light gizmo that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.It doesn't look like much -- a humble little plastic commode -- but push the center button, and some VERY bright LEDs shine their light up through a motorized oscillating lens to put a shimmering light show on your ceiling.The unit has 12 LEDs in blue, red, and green, and each time you push the center button, you select a different LED deployment pattern. There are color-changing flashing or phasing modes, solid colors, or solid multi-color combinations.A non-defeatable one-hour auto-shutoff function lets you fall asleep with the light on, and the unit comes with a USB cable plus an AC adapter and audio cable to plug in an MP3 player or the like.Yes, the commode has volume controls and a speaker, which I haven't tried, as other reviewers here say it's dreadful.It doesn't matter. As someone who loves to have spa days, this awesome ocean projector just gave me a relaxing atmosphere at home to have a spa day anytime! The LED projector is simple to use and comes with a regular wall plug adapter, USB adapter or you can use 4 AA batteries (not included). Once it has power, you can choose from 3 colors - Red, Blue or Green - that are bright (you can adjust) and have great variances in their tones. I like setting the timer (it can go up to 60 min) and it has an auto shut-off so you can set it before bed, drift off to sleep, and not worry about it staying on. The light is cool to the touch so no worries about little hands around it, either.It really is pretty on the ceiling and walls and makes you feel like you are under the sea in a calm, safe environment. The light has speakers so you can hook in your phone or device and play soothing music as well. Really a great night light/ocean projector/speaker system. Great for anyone that has a hard time decompressing during the day or night and provides a peaceful environment. Definitely a good purchase and already my niece is asking for one.

The projection is very bright with great colors. Very nice but sometimes wish we could lower the brightness as its a little too distracting to sleep with.It's practically silent and you cannot hear any noise unless you're within 3 feet of it. I haven't tried the sound so I'm not sure of the sound quality.It has the option to plug and project or remotely use with batteries. Good versatility.Overall it's great! I simply find it very bright which can be too distracting to sleep with. I just use it when I'm in a room at night and want some cool lights on.

My 4 year old loves it(and honestly I think it looks pretty cool too)! Helps him fall asleep at night and stay out of our room. Careful not to look at the bulbs on this if you have this sitting on the floor. It is blinding. PROS: Cool, rotating colors(or just 1 if you choose). Fills up a normal sized bed room on the whole ceiling (11x12) and some of the walls too. Like that it has the port for plugging in ipod and actually includes the adapter. Makes a child sleepy in record time by staring at the wave motion. CONS: It shuts off after 1 hr. If my kid wakes up in the middle of the night he freaks and makes me put it back on for him when too sleepy to figure out on his own. Wish it would stay on longer. After 3 months of near daily use, it started to make crunching noises when the gears moved. If you happen to play background music loud enough you won't hear it, but once you do, it will get on your nerves. Noise isn't there all the time. Might be temperature/humidity related. Speakers are of low quality, but are much louder than I would have expected.

The light show is interesting though slightly dim (maybe good for sleep) however the speaker is not very good. The sound is poor. Using the speaker also seems to mess up the timing for the auto-off, making 60 min maybe 10, so there is a counter in there that is getting some feedback from the sound input. Over all though my wife liked it so it gets 4 stars, one removed for the speaker issue.UPDATE: The light it makes is interesting and my wife even finds it soothing but they do not last. We had two of them and both failed the same way. They work by having LEDs mentioned on a rocking plate of sorts. The rocking is controlled by a small DC motor tired to the plate via two pullies and a drive belt. That drive belt is just a cheap and thin rubber band that eventually breaks, the plate stops rocking and the lights do not move. One can fix it be replacing the drive belt with a small rubber band but that will last 6 months or so, and fail as does the original rubber band belt.Down to one star.
