I have been using this brand for 50 years! That right, fifty years! So happy it is still manufactured. The smell is fine, normal for product. Works great! Used primarily for work boots. Conditioning and waterproofing. The product goes a long way. Love it.

This is really a great product. I used it on new leather boots before wearing them and break in period was a day. This will darken leather, as most products like this will do. Which is not a concern of mine. If you want a great leather conditioner and waterproofing product, get some. You'll be glad you did.

I love that you can use this grease for many things and it also can be useful to ward off the cold from your face.

I write this review from my personal experience with Bear Grease on my boots over many many years.. This is really good stuff..Apply it liberally with a rag and a warm blow dryer to work it into the leather and your feet will stay dry all winter.. It will keep your feet dry even when standing in puddles but you have to be sure to work it into the seams. It will also help to soften new leather.Occasionally you may have to touch up the seams a bit if your boots or leather sees heavy use but in general just apply it once a year in the fall.The product is in a grease form similar to petroleum jelly so it goes on easy. When treating boots you may see some orange traces in the first couple of weeks near the seams if you wear light socks but it washes out.The grease will even help to restore dried leather that is starting to look a bit rough and worn. It won't work miracles but it can extend the life of leather which has not been maintained and soften it and make it look decent again.I would defiantly buy this product again and always try to keep some on hand although it is getting tougher to find it.

It’s goes on smooth and really seems to make my boots fairly water resistant. It darkens the leather just a little but looks fine. I don’t mind my work boots getting darker.

Iv used many products but this stuff is by far the best . I put two coats on using heat in between and in heavy use they look great and still bead water well after a month !!!

I like the smell, and how it goes on easy and isn’t overpowering. Has been holding up in these Michigan winters for decades. Best product for my boots yet
