ShaptonSharpening Pond

I was concerned about getting this (crazy price), but the build quality with the rubber base and tempered glass is exceptional. If you enjoy sharpening, this is a nice luxury.

The pond is very well made, and it comes in handy. It is ridiculously expensive, but that's to be expected for an item like this--well made--small demand. Now that I have it, and paid for it, I'm glad I got it. It keeps things neater and cleaner when sharpening. It should last a lifetime, perhaps generations.

Using waterstones has always been a messy process, but using the pond makes the sharpening a cleaner situation and cleanup fast and easy. Its substantial weight keeps every thing in place while sharpening and allows you to focus on the purpose at hand and not keeping the stones safe from the shop floor.

The pond is awesome. It heavy and made well.

This pond works great. Keeps the water where you want it. It is compact enough to put anywhere. It is well made. One star off because it is overpriced for what you get.

I bought this many years ago along with the Shapton stone holder, it makes your life much easier. This thing is HEAFTY and will not move regardless of how aggressive you are being. The heavy duty stone holder is a must with this pond.Yes it is expensive, but NOT overpriced. A huge amount of thought went into making this as functional as it is. Worth every penny.
