Supergirl: The Complete Fourth Season (Blu-ray)Season three saw Supergirl stop Reign and the other Worldkillers’ threat to our planet, and in the process, Kara discovered her mother survived the destruction of Krypton. Reconnecting with her past caused Kara to realize that her true home is here on Earth, where big changes are taking place for her and all of her friends in National City – and also, it appears, for a doppelganger in Russia!]]>

Firmly settled in the Arrowverse
This season of the show is really a continuation of the aliens vs. humans storyline from the prior season. Yes, it is very much incorporating the political climate of today into the story. The main storyline involves a citizen militia group called Children of Liberty, led by a character named Ben Lockwood, played by Sam Witwer. It also brings Supergirl's version of Lex Luthor (at least Earth-38's version) played by John Cryer and adapts the Red Daughter storyline from the comics which was teased at the end of last season.About 1/3 of the way into the season, the crossover event, Elseworlds, which crosses with Arrow, and Flash (Legends of Tomorrow is not included this year) occurs. It partially tells its own story and largely sets up the next crossover which, if you have been paying attention to the casting, will be massive, and include more than just the current shows in the storyline. It also served as a mini-pilot episode for Batwoman, and firmly ties the Arrowverse to the show Smallville (albeit the version that aired on TV is on a different earth than Earth-38). Which can help explain how Sam Witwer can play a different character on Supergirl despite also being one of the "big bads" on Smallville. Many will remember that a major hint that the Arrowverse is tied to Smallville was dropped last season when Chole and the "wall of weird" was mentioned on Supergirl. For those who get the blu-ray discs, many of the extras carry over from the other releases (such as the DC comic-con panels, the villains of the DC universe featurette, and the features on the crossover story. What is specific to Supergirl are deleted scenes for many of the episodes and a gag reel. You also get each of the three crossover episodes so you can watch them all in one viewing.Overall, I think the latter third of the season is the most entertaining part (once Red Daughter and Lex really enter the picture). As I said before, the show is unashamedly running a commentary on the political climate of today and hides nothing about what side the writers are on. So, depending on what your political leanings are, you will probably hate the season. There are certainly other viewing options out there for you if that is the case. On the other hand, some may love the political tone or just ignore it.

Politically Brave & Superbly Heroic: A Feminist Icon Hits Its Highest Peak
Following the absolutely stunning third year, the CW's premier Super-Hero program has outdone itself this time. Season 4 of "Supergirl" is so good, so timely, and so inspiring, its sometimes scary. Tackling the insane moors of modern geo-politics, in a time and place, to say nothing of medium and audience, when being politically-minded or outspoken is seen as a death-sentence to success, the Cast and Crew of the Last Daughter of Krypton take a stand. And succeed beautifully. In a season challenging Right Wing Nationalism and Xenophobia, Foreign Intervention in Domestic American Democracy, Far-Left Wing Violence, Corruption of News Media and Misinformation, the Subtleties of Bigotry from Moderate Beginnings, as well as Empathetic Explorations of Legal and Illegal Immigration, Trans Rights, Gay Rights, Loyalty, Truth, Friendship, Love, and a Shared Humanity... everything is done perfectly. Not a single episode lags, nothing is filler, nothing condescendeds, and everything is relevant. The entire cast is in top-form: David Harewood's grappling with non-violence, Jesse Rath's inspired work as Brainiac-5, the gut-retching pathos of Katie McGrath's Lena Luthor, Mehcad Brooks and Chyler Leigh's rock-solid performances, the ingenious humanity and sinister cruelty of Sam Witwer, David Ajala's fan-favorite anti-hero underdog in Manchester Black, the gloriousness that is Jon Cryer's scene-stealing Lex Luthor, and Melissa Benoist's career-defining titular role as the Girl of Steel. But the biggest stand-out has to be Trans-Rights icon Nicole Maines as newcomer Nia Nal, the super-heroine Dreamer, and yes, that kind of blunt political cheekiness is everywhere this year.Bold, intelligent, funny, brave, absolutely exhilarating, complex, gripping, and sadly all-too-relevant, Season 4 of the CW's "Supergirl" is damn-near perfection. A masterclass in introducing the world of politics to a YA and Teen audience with class and style, family-friendly and wonderfully-emotional, this year of Kara Zor-El/Danver's adventures should be a Must-Buy for fans of all ages, and all walks of life.Highly, highly Recommended.Believing in something isn't a weakness. Caring for people unlike ourselves isn't a weakness. The Truth isn't a weakness. Love isn't uniform, and it is never a weakness. Don't listen to the haters and the trolls. This show's bulletproof.

Great show!
I have always been a great fan of Supergirl and always had a tinge of sadness that she did not got the same affluence in movies as her Kryptonion male cousin. The movie with Helen Slater was fun to watch and I liked what they did with her in "Smallville". Now, the "Girl of Steel" has her own show and I love it!The fun thing with CW-productions are the crossover events, as well as the individual episodes on the many CW shows where the different characters get a chance to meet each other and so make small winks of the eye to the larger fandom of the DC Comics world and its many, many multiverses...As for the handling of the item, the sending and all the rest: impeccable service! I got it even earlier than estimated! Very good work!
