Fantastic even without software
I was all set to give this keyboard a 4-star review. I was going to withhold the fifth star due to not having software control to customise a key-by-key lighting setup. I like those because my fingers occasionally slip off the WASD keys while gaming, and I like to have them lit up so I can see the problem out of the corner of my eye. However, I discovered several Fn key combos that aren't listed on the instructions. Some are on their website, and some aren't anywhere. My favourite discovery was that there are gaming presets for lighting profiles by hitting Fn-1 through Fn-5. These will light up common gaming key clusters, so I've got my lit WASD keys! Fifth star unlocked. It only works in white, but it's a great feature, and I wouldn't want to leave the keyboard in a gaming mode when not gaming anyway.Another "hidden" Fn key combo is Fn-Esc to reset the RGB settings to default. Not as useful, but possibly good to know. If you're trying to type in the dark, and are having trouble seeing the keys for whatever reason, the Fn-Pause combination will light up all keys to white for maximum visibility. It has plenty of features to keep me happy. There are plenty of nice LED presets. The LEDs are decent colours. It feels incredibly solid. The wrist-rest gets a tiny bit sweaty but is otherwise nice. The riser feet are solid and have rubber at the end. It has an actual UK keyboard layout (which is rare in the budget mechanical market). Settings are saved when unplugged or turned off (shockingly not a universal feature of non-software RGB keyboards). The keys feel very nice. The 50 cN force for the Outemu Red switches does make the keys feel just a tiny bit more stiff than I'd like, but not much different than Cherry MX Red 45 cN. When typing, they definitely feel different, but my typing speed is within 2 WPM either way. In fairness, I haven't noticed much of a difference when gaming. There is one small grumble. There's a lovely WIN light on the keyboard to alert you to when you've used the Fn-Windows keyboard combo. While nice, it doesn't seem as important to remind people why their Windows key isn't working as it would to remind them why their WASD keys have been turned into arrow keys from a toddler or cat hitting the Fn-W combo. If I had to choose one, I'd choose a light for WASD. Surely, anybody who's ever tried to Google "My WASD keys are arrow keys" without being able to type A, D, S, or W would, too.But that's just a bonus feature that isn't as bonus as I'd prefer. High quality keyboard at a sweet price point.

Very sturdy keyboard and the wrist rest has strong magnets.
Very good value for money at this price point. Has all the features you'd need from a keyboard plus some media function keys (By pressing the "fn" key and the function you want to use. A bit like pressing shift and the letter you want to be capital. The one I brought has nice to use key presses that are not as hard to press as some of my other mechanical keyboards and unlike my Razer Blackwidow it doesn't make a click sound when I'm typing which can be useful at night when others are in bed. The looks are inoffensive to me and do the job of displaying the board just fine. I won't pass judgement on the looks as they are subjective and wouldn't be very productive in a review of a keyboard. Needless to say I can type just fine with this board. The lighting can be turned up and down also for the needs or desires of the person using board. Not much choice at this price point but this board certainly surprised me that a board at this price point could be so competent. That's not to say that other ones are not competent but I didn't expect a mechanical keyboard at this price point frankly. Especially this feature rich. Now one thing I will say is that I haven't downloaded any software for this keyboard. And frankly I don't feel the need to, it just works without fuss. And using a specific button combo you can scroll through the different light settings.Overall very pleasant inoffensive board with plenty of features and strong magnets holding the wrist rest to the bottom of the keyboard.

Growing on me.
The KeyboardLooking back I thought this may be the TECKNET KUMARA, roughly £2 more, much the same but that had brown switches over this red ?? perhaps you know which is different.Anyway I have tried quite a few keyboards in the past & been very discouraged.I loved my led wireless till it got coffee knocked on it,, then I got inherited a flat key Lenovo which served me well, yet a pain at night especially with newer led dimmer room lights.SO I tried again.Minuses- the lights do not turn off after awhile (a plus to those who turn off early -- REALLY why can they not add a movement switch for those of us that store our boards in a tray!). You can permanently turn lights off (why??) On reboot your setting remains.- The cable is 1-2 ft too short to thread under my desk... a real & stupid pain).- The number keys & shift indications are too small in comparison to the rest especially.- Delete button I would verily prefer twice the length down; I am used to this & find the placement very awrward being too small.Plus's +The keys are bright & once you photograph the instruction slip (unreadable) then enlarge it you can actually calm the LED lights from 140 bpm disco setting! Could not type with that. Many light settings - I just go with slowest breathe rainbow cycle.Keys - well there is no replacements in box. I thought I would have trouble going from a flar keyboard but actually I seem to be able to type quicker on this (my touch typing coming back perhaps).- Though I have to add a minus for the ringing ting left after hitting a key. I would guess the immediate key click noise is medium.Build quality - Like no keyboard I have ever known.... heavier & sturdy is the first observation,,, it does not slip offf your lap & I can still pick it up with two fingers thanks to the well placed holes underneathI. If I missed any type o's it's the board (admittedly corrected a couple,, new).I like the build & weightiness, though hate the ping. LED burning elec I can deal with as wired but cord still too short. All in all I am not a 100% but I think I will soldier on despite the 'PING!'. Better than the several so far & not over pricey.
