This is such a beautiful feeder. Without 1 week I had lots of Hummingbirds feeding from it. It has an elegant design and looks beautiful for outside decor. I tried some of the top brand nectar but found homemade works best for this little ones. 4 parts purified water to 1 part sugar. Each week more birds find our feeder. I'm on a second floor with a long porch where I got a larger planter and put flowers in it with a nice sized shepherds hook, I hanged it from that hook and the birds just love it. It doesn't have cheap plastic and its very easy to keep clean, which is important because other plastic feeders, especially in the heat of the spring and summer would cause leaching into the water which could be very harmful for birds, instead this has a BPA free glass. Its worry free and easy to fill, it is also very strong and durable. There are tiny red flowers to attract the hummers in. I did take 2 wavy long tailed red ribbons and tied 2 bows on the shepherds hook so that the birds would see the ribbons flowing in the wind, it helped to attract them initially. Plus the ribbons look very pretty on there too for a decoration. To keep pests out, I took a shallow planting dish, about only 1.5"inches high and 16"inch wide, a bit larger then the actually planting pot, and I filled it with water for a moat so that any ants and insects would not be able to climb up the planting pot, because they can't across the water to get to it. After I put the moat under the planting pot I had no more problems with insects. I would recommend this feeder highly. It gives great pleasure to watch them feed all day long. Every 10 to 15 minutes they are back for more.

The BEST feeder ever!!! Hint: SO easy to clean!
This is, by far, the best feeder I have ever purchased and worth every penny. The ease of cleaning alone makes this feeder superior to any other feeder I've seen out there. I had purchased one of those beautiful blown glass pieces but promptly shattered the glass trying to clean it. The mouth on those blown glass ones makes them impossible to clean properly as well. Back to this beauty. The wide mouth base for this one makes it super easy to get a bottle cleaning scrubber in there. If you have OCD like me, this is the feeder to get! Super cute retro, antique vibe to it too. Did I mention this things holds up in Arizona heat? Yep! It does. I'm inland Cali where the dog days of summer have rivaled Phoenix heat these last few years (temps over 111F for weeks on end) and this feeder has truly held up to the sweltering days. On a side note: please, please make sure you are changing your sugar water out at least every few days, if not daily in that wildly hot heat. You can go several days without changing in the winter though because this feeder holds SO much liquid. It's also super easy to fill because the wide top serves as a fantastically sturdy base to fill the feeder upside down. You fill it while upside down and then twist on the brown base with the feeding flowers with ease. It's also delightfully easy to unscrew when you go to change, for those with arthritis concerns. The size allows for little to no tugging action because, physics. Anywho, another pro tip: once the food is in and top is screwed into place, I walk with it still upside down until I get to where the feeder is hanging and then use a quick flip action to let physics do it's thing again and not have to worry about any dripping sugar water. It's truly FAB! I am a customer for life so please never stopping making this feeder! Also had a minor customer service issue and the company was an absolute delight to work with. Truly 10 out of 10!! And one more note, not feeder related: please do not buy the red hummingbird food. The dyes are not good for them. It's soooo easy and cheap to make food. Here's a quick recipe: 4 cups of water, 1 cup of sugar. Bring to a light boil and cool. Easy peasy. You can refrigerate up to a week. Enjoy!

Very happy
This feeder looks good and more importantly, the hummers like and use it. I have bought different types over the years and am always looking for the next "best one" but this one seems to be just right. It is nice looking and does attract the hummingbirds. I have two and add a normal red one to add red highlights. All three hang over flowers and near a window so we can watch the birds come and go. I like the angle of the nectar pool and the perches. They seem to be just right for the birds and several linger for a while sitting and feeding. Very good product. Would recommend.
