I have never written a review for any product on Amazon but this carburetor is amazing. It installed flawlessly on my 2000 Yamaha Kodiak 400 as a perfect fit and included everything you need. Machine is running great and only required a small adjustment to the idle speed. Highly recommended!

This carb fits a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 and it will run, but it will not run correctly. Spit and sputter and only idle with half choke. You will have to cannibalize used parts off the OEM card that you're replacing to make it run correctly (if you're lucky).... this carb is not a bolt on and your all set. Save yourself the hassle and wasted money and buy a Genuine Mikuni Yamaha- 5TE-E4101-01-00. I found one on eBay for $150.00, a bit more than this one (you get what you pay for). My old OEM carb lasted 19 years, so I would recommend to buy a Genuine Mikuni Yamaha Carb and be done with it.

The new carburetor worked fine. Easy to install aside from my old choke body being stuck and trying times hooking up the throttle cable once the new carb was installed. The new carb comes with extra jets and a filter. Did not use the new jets. Would have been good had there been any mention on whether or not the new carb had any jets in it. I guessed it did and guessed right. Had considered rebuilding the old carburetor but with a new carb at this price rebuilding the old one was a foolish thought.

Installed on a 2003 YFM400 Kodiak which is a listed application. Stumbled on acceleration wouldn't idle and needed to be half choked to run off idle. I removed the plug and adjusted the fuel screw which helped. I changed jets using what was included. No markings so I used welding tip cleaner to determine the small to large size. Still operating terrible, I tried to use the jets from the original carb. The threads are the same for some of the jets and different for others. I wish I had never tried this instead of rebuilding the original.
