Works amazing
Works amazing. Simply wraps around LP cylinder and plug it in when you want to warm the cylinder. Makes grilling in bitter cold much easier plus you can effectively use every bit of gas in the cylinder during cold weather.

Kept the Heat On
I ordered the PowerBlanket for my 20 lb propane tank connected to my heater for my tiny house just in time! It arrived right before a week of single digit and below zero weather. Previously I had experienced issues with inefficiency of propane being delivered to the heater inside the house in similar weather the winter before. The heat would shut off when there was still plenty of propane in the tank because the gas pressure was affected by the low temps. Not this year! I installed the PowerBlanket very easily right out of the box, and I got much longer tank life and zero problems like the year before.I hesitated to buy the PowerBlanket due to its price, but it was an investment that should last for many winters and brought me peace of mind that far exceeded its price tag. The thought of being without heat for a long duration of frigid weather will no longer cause me anxiety. I’m so glad I purchased the PowerBlanket and highly recommend it.

No more frozen propane valves!
Winter of 2018-19 my propane bottle valves on my 5th wheel froze up numerous times when the outside temp was 5 degrees or colder. When that happened the heaters would not work and the water would freeze. These are expensive but they work like a champ. My propane compartment is nice and warm and the bottles no longer have a 1/4" of frost on them.

Its a good idea; low electric consumption
Update Dec 2017;2nd Power Blanket is now dead. Both units just sat on 55-gal drums in side a climate controlled warehouse. Both still in 'as new' condition.PowerBlanket has yet to respond to an email or a call.2 x $300 out the window.I cannot say how strongly I would advise anyone from buying one of the PowerBlankets ( I am only commenting on the 55-gal $300 model). We tried (2) units and both failed within 6 months of use.As a comparison, rubber strap drum heaters (about $180) and metal drum straps (about $300) are operating right next to the Powerblankets. All of them (about 15) were operation before the PowerBlankets came in and are still going strong. Its a good idea; low electric consumption, but poorly executed. Stay away from these lower end PowerBlankets. They're lack of response & support seems a clear indication that they know they have a problem with these.Again; we are referring only to the lower cost line PBL55F. Junk.Update after 6 months.Unit is DEAD,Still In like new Condition.Bought (2) units and the 2nd one is still working. But obviously a 50% preformance over 6 months is horrible.Plans to buy additional units are on hold now.Back to heat straps!!!These work great. We have used heat straps for 20years (rubber and the pricey metal units)These use a fraction of the electricity and heat a drum far faster. And easily maintain. We have bought more after trying them out. We heat drums of epoxy resins.

Does the job. Helps maintain good tank pressure, even in 10 degree weather
Excellent product IMO. We use this in an RV to heat a 20 pound cylinder. Tank pressure (per one of those cheap gauges that you screw into the tank outlet) would register into the "yellow" area, indicating tank pressure was low. After adding this blanket, pressure would bounce back into the "green" zone, just like a full tank on a hot day. I know. Those gauges don't get a lot of respect, but it's what I have, so I'm passing along the information. On a cold night without the blanket and a partially empty tank, it's likely that our RV furnace would have been starved for fuel after running for awhile, so it would probably have shut off before the RV got warm even though there was propane in the tank. This blanket keeps the liquid warm enough to continue producing good pressure down to the end of the tank. I've used it now through several months of the coldest parts of the winter, and have not had any issues with the blanket or with keeping the tank warm. Very happy.

Works To Heat Water For Bathing In a Pinch!
I'm actually using this to heat water in a bucket for showering. I have to do without a water for a while as I correct what turned out to be a horrible install job by a contractor about a month ago. Because of my schedule it's taken me several weeks, working an hour here and and an hour there, to work through it..This heater blanket appealed to me because of the low power consumption, making it safer to leave plugged in without monitoring, which I couldn't ever do with one of those 1000W submersion heaters. It takes a long time to heat the water, but as I shower in the morning and my wife in the evening, it works out. I am using this with: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IFHFJXI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Taking a shower with just five gallons of water isn't the best, but I have learned that it can be done.

It WORKS
I use this product as a companion to a Mr. Heater propane space heater. What attracted me to this product was, small propane tanks losing efficiency in extreme temperatures. Last winter, we had several episodes where the tank would freeze up, the regulator would seize, and our only choice was to bring the tank inside to warm it up so that we could use our Mr. Heater heater. We've had this thing since mid November. Last night was the first MAJOR test, with 13 degree weather. It worked flawlessly. The blanket doesn't get so hot that you get scared to use it. It just provides passive steady heat- just enough to keep your tank unfrozen. The price was also a major attraction. Typically these blankets cost hundreds of dollars more. Would Recommend. Also, we bought a heavy duty extension cord to use this thing, but it turned out to be unneeded. The cord is quite long.
